Very basic hotel. Looking tired and not very accommodating. Car park has limited spaces. No clue how breakfast is supposed to work? Very little competition in the area. Try the Water ship hotel !

Very poor. Front of house staff were very pleasant. No issues from these guys. Things went south from there. My room had cigarette tab ends on the carpet (x2) the plastic wrapping from cigarette pack also in the middle of the room. Lovely coffee machine with the coffee menu. No coffee pods. Notice that milk for cuppas was in the fridge. Again nothing. Good job I take my coffee black. To the food. Drink selection was plenty and didn't have to wait long. The pub had a speciality 'Mediterranean ' menu this night. Choose the Chicken hanging kebab and 'premium' truffle parmesan fries. I would expect that advertising a chicken kebab that the chicken would be the dominant ingredient. 4 small cubes of chicken. The rest was mostly courgette (which i asked for without, but told they are pre-made) peppers and onion. This was a veggie kebab with a bit of chicken. Not worth the £22 price. The fries were oven chips with grated parmesan cheese. And the flat bread was 4 small triangles that was cold and like cardboard. The lemon cheesecake was very nice though. Told my opinion to the young girl serving me. Not her fault, she said she would pass this feedback to the kitchen. When she brought me the bill she said they'd removed the service charge. A service charge is what I choose to pay depending on quality of service. Not an expectation. This is not American!! I would rather have paid the service charge and not paid for the terrible food on this occasion. And finally check out. Does not open until 8.00. I needed to leave for 7.15 so no chance of a breakfast. And there was no one to leave me room key or Dropbox for early checkouts. Had the call the emergency number to be told "just leave your key in the room" . Poor customer service. Not one for me next time I'm in the area.
