Basalt Mountain Inn

We stayed at your place last year and had a wonderful experience. Your place is in a great location in our favorite little town of Basalt. It appeared then that the old motel at this location had been purchased and restored very nicely into a small boutique hotel with really nice bath fixtures, etc. However, this year was a far different experience. We were in Room 3 for 4 nights starting on a Monday and checking out on Friday. We found the furniture (tables) to be very worn, thread bare bathmats, extremely dirty corners in the shower, very dirty corners between the toilet and shower and peeling paint above the sink. No housekeeping was done on Thursday as your sign under the TV stated. We assumed housekeeping would be there to empty trash and resupply the coffee maker and the shampoo dispenser but nothing was touched on Thursday. Shampoo dispenser should have been refilled before we arrived as it was low to start with. If anything was needed after hours a phone number was in the lobby. Doesn’t do much good if you can’t access the lobby to get the phone number. Breakfast while minimally adequate usually was not ready at 7:00. It appeared that the person responsible for getting the breakfast ready was just getting started at setting things up at 7:00 am. We want this to be a constructive review and not just a disgruntled customer as we have stayed with you before and had a great experience. We won’t be back until I hear from someone else who has stayed here that things have changed. It was not worth the $220/night+taxes that we paid for our 4 night stay. Sorry for this review but we think you can do much better.

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. The staff spoke broken English which ruined the beautiful Americana aesthetic of the Rocky Mountains, very disappointing!
