"The check in process was quick. We were looking forward to staying here as we just came in from Cartagena staying with Movich and It was wonderful. Unfortunately, the Movich in Barranquilla is tired. We walked up to our room and the hallway carpets were filthy. We booked a suite and it was a bunker. It had one small tiny window, which Looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The furniture in the room was worn. Dead plants and broken floor tiles. When you looked out the window, you saw no view and it looked into rusty old Air-conditioning units. We did walk downstairs and refuse the room. I will say I felt like the hotel handled the situation. They gave us a higher floor suite the manager and two additional staff walked to the first room and the second room and acknowledged that needed to be clean better. They comped a dinner. Over the next couple of days you saw an effort to clean the floors because we could hear them vacuuming early in the mornings in the hallways. I will say that this hotels food was excellent. It was the best that we had in our 14 day stay in the country."

There are actually two Chinese fast food restaurants in the nearby shopping malls. The taste is just so-so. The hotel still does not have an electric kettle. One thing I don’t like is that it was originally a buffet breakfast, but the waiter was too enthusiastic and didn’t let me do it myself. He would help you serve whatever you like."

"Check in was super slow, just 1 person at reception made checking in a big waste of time. The room was ok, a bit dated already. The water from the shower took ages to be hot and sometimes it didnt even went very hot. Breakfast was ok, not Amazing but had most of what youd expect although the restaurant itself had zero ambience, same as the lobby, not a nice place. big plain simple areas. Nothing alusive to the country.. or the city or the culture.. sad place. Bed was good and pillows also. Mini bar was well stuffed."

Room was always great. The food and drinks from Skylounge restaurant was great. The bed and pillows were heavenly. Super comfortable. Hotel was sparkling clean throughout. We were on level 11. What we didn´t like: The TV - operating the smart TV was not so easy. TV guide listing a millions channels, yet just a handful would be available. Why? If its in the guide then show it or block it The inability to comcast or mirror using an IOS iPhone (but Android was ok - is this phone discrimination lol? Housekeeping, as previously mentioned were great, but a bit too keen to service our room...When on vacation, 9.30-10am is super early to knock on the door. Highly recommend, and given the opportunity, we would stay again."
