Homelands Guest House

Such a lovely, homely place, well run and comfortable. It's our fourth visit in as many years. We can't fault it. We recommend you stay there!

Ideal location for walking around Barnard Castle. High Street within five minutes. Accommodation in perfect order. A warm inviting welcome from Glenda. Room spacious, comfortable and with a full compliment of extras. Dinner can be provided on request. Superb range of menu on offer at very reasonable rates.

Room 3 at the front of this lovely house was comfortable and quiet. The hosts offer a warm welcome, and an evening meal, cooked to prior order, was absolutely delicious...pork tenderloin. I use public transport, and local buses stop right outside the house, which is in easy walking distance from the Castle and the Bowes Museum. All in all a very pleasant stay, andI would certainly recommend it.

Stayed one night in the awesome garden room. Tranquility at its finest. Large double bed with a full en suite. Clean tidy and everything one needs. The welcome and hospitality of our Italian host was awesome, nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was again excellent freshly cooked, hot and locally sourced products. Would I recommend Homelands…… in a heartbeat.

We stayed in Room 2 (Starry night) for one night to attend a show at the Witham in Barnard Castle and cannot recommend this place highly enough. The house is very central, with everything in Barnard Castle within walking distance and parking was easy (we got a space right outside in rush hour). Our room was larger than we expected (with a huge kingsize bed) and very quiet and comfortable. Consequently, we had a great night's sleep and awoke to a delicious breakfast in the sunny, spacious breakfast room. Glenda and Daniele are fantastic hosts, being friendly and welcoming but never intrusive, and we felt very much at home in their lovely guesthouse. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we're in town for the evening.

We enjoyed our stay at Homelands very much. The garden room was very cosy and comfortable, and the (cooked) breakfasts were delicious. We found the hosts, Glenda and Daniele warm, cheerful and welcoming. What was even more impressive was the patient and good-natured way they dealt with an errant courier company each day for a week that promised to collect a package I'd left behind. Five stars at least! Highly recommended!
