"We stayed at Serrania del Viento for 8 days and absolutely loved it! Each of the little houses are so unique, private, and very quiet. We'd wake up early every morning and birdwatch from our private porch before walking into breakfast with the most beautiful view. All the food was wonderful and everyone that worked at Serrania del Viento went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, which included helping us arrange a birdwatching tour and making sure we knew about all the best hiking spots and restaurants around Barichara. Serrania del Viento is family-owned by a wonderfully kind family who made us feel at home. We didn't have a car but had no issue walking into Barichara (but it's easy to get a very reasonably priced taxi too). Truly a special place which is not to be missed!"

"The hotel is very charming, conveniently located and well-equipped. The rooms are spacious and tasteful decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One drawback is the breakfast. The quality is fine, but the choice is limited to what the hotel provides and the portions are quite modest. Another minor issue was the WiFi, it didn’t worked in our room."

"A privilege to stay in this 4 rooms property, in a secluded , quiet location and yet close to the centre . Having stayed at the equivalent in Villa de leyva , this property was to the same high , stylish standard . Communal area was lovely . Breakfast on the terrace , watching the birds was great . Breakfast was delicious : fresh home made juice , yogurt and jams , attractively presented . Would have no hesitation in recommending. There was a pool in addition but we didn’t get chance to use . Staff were lovely and made us feel at home from the onset . Host Ximena organised our 2 onward journeys , gave recommendations for restaurants and activities . Very professionally run"

"Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our trip around Colombia in March 2026. This nice hotel accommodated the whole group (we were seven) in 4 rooms around a nice patio, where we could have a basic, but nice breakfast in the morning. The room was very small and basic, but still comfortable. It also comprised a small toilet. As it is situated less than 5 minute walking from the main square, it is a nice base to visit both Barichara and Guane, a nearby cozy village, accessible from Barichara through a 6km trekking route or by road (about 10km). The staff was always nice and helpful, giving us the impression that we were being received as family."
