Ohla Eixample Hotels in Barcelona

Ohla Eixample

"I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and most of my experience was great. The front desk staff were all polite and enthusiastic, and there was turn-down service with chocolates every evening. The breakfast was very Western, and the staff were very helpful in assisting with and providing the food I needed. The room was small but exquisite, with a stylish design concept and a kettle, which is a must-have for Chinese guests. My only complaint: upon check-in, I asked the front desk if I could get a room upgrade (since I was staying for 3 nights). The tall foreign staff member initially agreed, but after he went into a small back room to discuss for 2-3 minutes, he came out and told me it would cost an extra 40 euros per night, which was a bit disappointing. So, I didn't get the upgrade and stayed in room 601, which had two large pillars and a small window with no sunlight. I hope for a better experience next time!"

"True to its five-star rating, the breakfast here was genuinely the best I had during my entire trip in Spain. The variety was incredible, and the ingredients were clearly high-quality. The service also met the excellent standards you'd expect from a well-established hotel. Enjoying a meal on the rooftop terrace with a gentle breeze, overlooking the distant Sagrada Familia, was an absolute delight! Overall, my only complaint is the price!"

Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower ★★★★★
"Just a 5-minute walk to the subway station. It's not in the city center, but it's a clean, new area not far from the airport, perfect for an overnight layover. There's a large Mercadona supermarket downstairs with everything you could need: snacks, drinks, bottled water, fruits, meats, seafood, beer, wine, hams, sausages, and daily necessities. Service: The front desk can help call a taxi. Facilities: The rooftop skybar is available for walk-ins. Environment: The panoramic elevator offers sea views."

"Beyond its cheap price and proximity to the train station, I honestly couldn't find any other redeeming qualities. The room's decor was more like a hostel, and the cleanliness was appalling. There was a noticeable amount of dust on both the bed and the floor, as if it hadn't been occupied or cleaned in ages. After sleeping there, my thighs were covered in mite bites. The toiletries and hairdryer were clearly cheap, leaving my hair feeling incredibly dry after washing. This place definitely doesn't live up to a four-star rating; it's a three-star at best. Many hostels actually do a better job than this. Thumbs down."

Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel ★★★★
"This is hands down the worst five-star hotel I've ever stayed in! I booked a suite, but the facilities were incredibly outdated. The 'sky garden,' which was supposed to be a design highlight, was full of dead branches and withered leaves. The terrace, originally separated from the next room by shrubs, now only had a wire mesh. When someone next door was taking a bath, it was so awkward I couldn't even step out! I checked in at 8 PM, and the rooftop club above was full of laughter and singing, with occasional English conversations clearly audible until 1 AM! In the room, everything from the floor to the ceiling, including the sliding door between the shower room and the foyer, was severely damaged. This meant that as soon as I opened the room door, I had a direct view into the shower. Even worse, the main door was broken and couldn't be locked from the inside! The hygiene was also a major concern. I was initially surprised there were no mosquitoes in Barcelona, but it turns out they were all in this hotel, with small moths even in the bathroom. I had booked for two nights, but I genuinely couldn't stand staying there for another minute. After coordinating for a long time to change rooms, the only available suite also had a broken bathroom door. And the front desk staff said the duty manager wasn't in, so I couldn't check out, and they couldn't guarantee a refund for the price difference if I downgraded to a standard room! After four hours of back and forth, I decided that even if it meant losing nearly 10,000 RMB for two nights, I would insist on checking out. However, it was too late to book another hotel, so I had to use a chair to prop the door shut and reluctantly stayed for one night. Thankfully, Trip.com fully compensated me for my loss when the hotel refused to refund. My many years of loyalty to Trip.com have proven worthwhile; it's great to have someone genuinely help resolve issues when traveling!"

"1. Great location, 20-minute walk to Batlló, where I go every night to see the night view. 8-minute walk to the Also bus station. Because of its good location, I can walk everywhere. I bought a 10-trip transportation card and only used it twice. 2. Cleanliness is good; there's someone to clean, and the kitchen is always tidied. 3. 24-hour front desk. Every staff member is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I asked them many questions, and they explained everything in detail, even helping me find locations on the map. 4. I stayed 5 nights, then returned for another night. Luggage storage is free. If you don't return, there's a charge, I think it's €5, but I'm not sure. 5. Dinner is included every night and is free. Those who enjoy socializing can chat with people from all over the world and learn how to cook Western food. 6. Spanish food, you'll be asked to cook your own meals. There are usually 20+ people eating each night, great atmosphere, and complimentary alcohol is provided daily. Eating out for dinner would cost at least €10. 7. Guests are very well-behaved; no one makes noise or turns on the lights. 8. Booked through Ctrip, which gave various coupons, making it quite cost-effective. Look for coupons! 9. There are supermarkets and lots of Chinese restaurants nearby. 10. I read reviews saying I'd get bitten all over, but I brought insect spray and sprayed the bed every night, and I didn't get bitten at all. 11. Spacious shower with three stalls. Strong hot and water pressure, never have to wait in line. 12. The downside is no bed curtains, but for this price including dinner, what more could you ask for? 13. I would definitely stay here again if I went to Barcelona."
