"Hotel above expectations, quality price absolutely disproportionate. Almost 4 star service with a very low rate. The staff was really kind and available for every request. The elevator a bit crazy while I was there, in my opinion the mirror reflects on the photocells and continues to reopen the doors. But even if this very prompt in solving the issue. Thanks I hope to return soon"

InterContinental Hotels MARSEILLE - HOTEL DIEU by IHG

Excellent! The hotel is housed in a grand old building that has been meticulously renovated. The front desk and parking attendants provided great service. When I was having a beer at the restaurant, I asked a staff member about Bouillabaisse, and a short while later, they brought me a note with three nearby restaurant recommendations. As soon as you drive up to the lobby, staff members are there to take care of parking and other services. The location is fantastic, directly facing the Old Port and just across the square.

I chose this hotel because it is close to the train station and convenient to take the airport line the next day. The location is very good, just a few steps from the subway station, two stops to the old port. Most of the attractions in Marseille are around the old port. There are not many hotel rooms, the room is not big or small, if you open two large boxes, there is a little restriction on walking. The room rate is early, there are not many breakfast options, there is a courtyard where you can eat breakfast, you can have a cup of coffee in the courtyard.

Much better than expected! The early flight arrived at 9 o'clock, and the room was ready! Victoria, the front desk lady, was very enthusiastic and spoke good English. She answered all kinds of questions carefully, including various matters about chartering a car to Nice. But the hotel's charter and taxi reservation are a bit expensive (50%+ premium vs. market, I chartered a car for 400 yuan, the hotel quoted 600 yuan; Uber 15 to the train station, the hotel charged 25 yuan...) This may be the only point that is not so ok, but this is an additional service outside of accommodation, so it is not included in this rating. The room facilities are very new, and the inner courtyard is very quiet, I like it very much.

The bed is quite big, maybe not as big as a king, but two adult women won't feel crowded. The room is a bit old, but it's still quite clean. There is a shower and a bathtub, but the seal of the shower room is not well pasted or old, and it leaks. The balcony faces the port. The rooms with balconies are all on the lower floors and face a road to the port, not directly next to the port. The view is average, and Marseille is always windy in winter, which feels quite tasteless. The breakfast is average. I don't know if there are not many varieties in the off-season, but the restaurant is high and you can see the whole Marseille. The popular seats on the terrace are not open in winter (and it's really cold). The hotel has a basement where you can pay for parking, 32 euros a day, and the entrance and exit are very narrow, so be careful. But this location is convenient for highways. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center of the old port. The area around the hotel feels safe, and it's no problem to walk back after dinner in the evening.

Second stay at this hotel. Convenient for when traveling to / from the cruise port or airport. The hotel itself is very nice, small but great character and good facilities. We had a double floor mezzanine family room. Great room with comfy beds, clean, good amenities and nice bathroom, fridge, coffee machine etc so everything you need. There are two big downsides to this hotel that are out of their control. The old big French doors / windows look great but are not good at all for sound. We were on the 5th floor and heard cars, sirens, mopeds and people until the early hours and this does impact sleep. The second thing is the area, not a pleasant place at night. Lots of Homeless, rough sleepers and not a welcoming place. For us, simply going there to sleep and be comfortable and have a nice room it was good and we’d stay again, but it is expensive when you consider the area and noise at night vs some other better located hotels in Marseille

1. On June 17th, I had a 'Still in' sign on my door during the day. Although I went out for lunch, I didn't remove the sign as I didn't want anyone entering my room. However, when I returned in the afternoon, I found that the room card I had left in the power slot was gone, stolen! I immediately went downstairs to report to the front desk that my room card had been stolen from the slot inside my room. The front desk had no idea who had entered my room, meaning the person who stole the card could re-enter my room at any time. There was absolutely no security during my stay. The front desk staff were completely unhelpful and showed a passive attitude. 2. On June 18th, around 9 PM, I was taking the elevator downstairs when it broke down and wouldn't open. I was trapped inside, continuously pressing the emergency button. It took several minutes for someone to respond, but still no one came to help me get out. The elevator was a sealed space with no air circulation, which was very uncomfortable. In the end, I had to use all my strength to pry open the door myself to escape. I immediately went downstairs to complain to the front desk. There were two staff members on duty at the time; one sat there as if nothing had happened, while the other had a terrible attitude, stating that he had called maintenance and that the broken elevator was not his problem. I asked, 'Shouldn't you have helped me get out first? If maintenance never arrived, would I have been stuck in an airless elevator?' This hotel clearly has no SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for elevator breakdowns, simply abandoning guests trapped inside. When I complained after freeing myself, instead of apologizing and comforting me, the duty staff member argued with me, saying he was only responsible for calling maintenance and nothing else. He even dared me to complain to hotel management, saying he didn't care. There was absolutely no service quality. 3. From the theft of my room card from inside my room to being trapped in a broken elevator with no assistance, this hotel offers absolutely no security and terrible service quality.

The location is very convenient. The hotel has access control, which is relatively safe. Free luggage storage. There are not many simple cafes around. Breakfast was added, which was very amazing. The staff are very polite

The biggest advantage is that the train station is very close. The train station is on a high ground. It is very difficult to pull boxes in the city, such as the old port. It is recommended that the subway taxi is closer. The whole Marseille has various heights and lows. ibis is mainly soundproofed. The sound of other neighbors closing the door is not loud outside the window. Breakfast is really good at this price hotel.
