The Hotel service staff is generally good. However, the whole hotel and building has a mold issue. The rooms and corridor floors have a musky smell which smelt of mold spores. My wife had an allergic reaction to the mold spores and her throat hurt. My yhroat also turned scratchy after walking into the first 2 rooms.

We had to request for 3 room changes before we were able to accept a room with fewer mold smell. Fortunately the service staff was understanding and apologetic about it. We also noticed the hotel giving out tea light essential oil burners in most rooms. Eventually we had to buy an air purifier from the nearby Harvey Norman to tackle the air quality issue, so my wife's condition was somewhat improved but still residual effects lingered.

When we reached home to unpack our luggage, my wife had a slight reaction again, so we had to clean out our luggage and its contents with anti-mold wipes/spray.

We even considered changing hotels on the second day.

The room view, daily complimentary breakfast was of good quality, however the stay was definitely ruined by the mold issue.

Unforgettable Service at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

I’ve stayed at several 5-star hotels before, but the service at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur really stands out.

Right from the start, Farhana at reception made me feel genuinely welcomed. She was warm, professional, and so friendly—it felt like I was being greeted by someone who truly cared. Although I had a small issue with my room (which was resolved by someone else), Farhana’s kindness and the way she carried herself made the issue feel minor. Her presence and the great first impression she gave really set the tone for my entire stay.

At the restaurant, Raynalin and Halim were equally amazing. They were attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at just the right time and offering thoughtful recommendations. I felt so well taken care of—like they really wanted me to enjoy my meal and have a peaceful experience. I also noticed how consistent and gracious they were with every guest, which says a lot about the service culture at this hotel.

The people here are what make Banyan Tree KL truly special. Farhana, Raynalin, and Halim—thank you for making my stay so memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We came to Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake during off-peak hours. The hotel environment is excellent, the lakeside scenery is intoxicating, the restaurant is elegant and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, the quality of Mingyue breakfast needs to be improved. The selection and taste of dishes are not up to the standards of high-end hotels, which is a bit regrettable. The service is particularly outstanding. Special thanks to an enthusiastic and professional guest, Ambassador Yang, who took the initiative to assist in arranging the itinerary, from checking in and taking the boat to arranging dinner, as well as the introduction of the surrounding environment. The meticulous and thoughtful service made us feel warm and added a lot to the overall experience. I hope that the breakfast can be optimized at the same time. With such an ambassador serving attentively, we believe that it will be more perfect next time. It also makes us feel that the Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake Hotel will be our first choice when we come to Suzhou next time~

Architectural style and environment
- Fusion of tradition and modernity: Suzhou Lion Mountain Banyan Tree perfectly integrates the traditional Suzhou garden style with the modern resort concept. It is close to the mountains and lakes, and incorporates the traditional architectural elements of Suzhou in its design. The white walls and black tiles show the gentleness and simplicity of Jiangnan. The community space is rich and varied, and a unique landscape garden is constructed. For example, by drawing on the layout of Suzhou gardens, various small courtyards are used to enclose the staggered courtyards, which is like a garden in the garden of Lion Mountain Park, allowing travelers to experience the charm of Suzhou culture up close.
- Beautiful scenery: Travelers can not only enjoy the natural scenery of Lion Mountain, but also enjoy their vacation time in an atmosphere where art and technology blend. The lobby has large floor-to-ceiling windows, with a mirror pool outside the window and Lion Mountain in the distance, like a boat sailing under Lion Mountain; at night, the reflection of the sloped roof buildings built by the water echoes the lights at the bottom of the pool, adding beautiful colors.

- Good room experience: There are 11 villa buildings scattered on the upper and lower floors of the hotel, with a total of 60 rooms. The room types are divided into courtyard and other courtyards, and all rooms are equipped with hot springs, one room and one private hot spring, which is very private. The courtyard rooms are basically 60 square meters, and there are also spacious courtyards; the other courtyards are 90 square meters suites with a wide view. Some health rooms are also equipped with special yoga mats, elastic ropes, massage boards and singing bowls, etc., which can be used for healing at any time.
- Rich dining: Baiyun Restaurant specializes in Cantonese cuisine, and breakfast is mainly semi-self-service Cantonese tea snacks. The newspaper-style menu is unique, and the open food display table provides a variety of buffet dishes. There are also Cantonese dim sum, porridge, Southeast Asian cuisine, American breakfast and other snacks, which are rich in variety and excellent in quality. The ”Lion Fortune Afternoon Tea” in the lobby lounge is exquisitely presented, the desserts are uniquely shaped, the salty and sweet combinations are diverse, the drinks are large in quantity, and the cost-effectiveness is high.
- Cultural activities and cooperation: With the strategic cooperation with cultural and tourism institutions such as Suzhou Museum, the regional cultural and tourism industry has been further enriched, providing hotel guests with more opportunities to learn about local culture. Insufficient aspects
With more guests, there are some mistakes in the chaos, and there are some shortcomings in management. I hope to improve management and strengthen emergency measures for large passenger flow.

This hotel healed my soul, heart and mind.

Yes it's kinda expensive, yes it's outside of the city... But I rarely felt this good just BEING in a place.

The scenery around is out of this world and will leave you in awe (and I talk from the perspective of a European that traveled a lot both in an outside of cities).

The structure is interesting and daring and welcoming and I was literally in love from the moment I stepped in the waiting hall to the very last step I left.

The building is new, modern, clean everywhere, tasteful and amazing under all aspects.

Again even if this hotel was not in the middle of the rain forest it would still be an incredibly beautiful hotel... But it is and so you're in one of the most beautiful hotels while being surrounded by mother Earth and it's lush nature 😍

I could keep boasting on and on but it's hard to explain how beautiful it is to swim in the amazing pool while staring in awe at the forest. 😱🎉

The room was also amazing (I was at floor 3) with a good sized room with amazing services and furniture an incredibly comfortable bed.

OH the food at the restaurant was also amazing even if a bit on the expensive side, but definitely totally 100% worth every penny. 

Souvenir store was also nice, a bit small but the products that I got were all really nice.. Again a bit expensive but that's expected. 

Thank you Mandai Hotel Staff... You really won a loyal customer if I'll ever happen to be around again and you definitely helped me heal my soul after a tiring working trip. ❤️
