From the very start, our experience was seamless — all our queries were answered promptly, and, as we had a very long journey, we even received a call to check we were safely on our way. Arriving at The Lord Crewe felt like the perfect start to our stay. Everyone we encountered, from front of house, restaurant, and bar staff to housekeeping, was attentive, friendly, and thoroughly professional. We stayed in the Lord Crewe Suite, which was so very comfortable and offered stunning views of Bamburgh Castle. The room featured a separate roll-top bath and a large walk-in shower, making it both luxurious and relaxing. As a bride waking up on the morning of our wedding to see the castle, where our ceremony took place, was an incredibly special moment I will always treasure. We held a pre-wedding meal for the main wedding party in the restaurant the night before the wedding. The food was excellent, and we felt so well looked after — it was the perfect start to our celebrations. Breakfast was also delicious, with lots of choice and a menu for hot food, all of great quality and again great service. The perfect start to the day! We were made to feel so very welcome and special, and we will certainly be returning to stay here again. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during such a significant week. The combination of exceptional service, gorgeous setting, and attention to detail made our time at The Lord Crewe truly memorable.

It was our wedding anniversary looking forward to it. Bar very low ceiling though a lovely feature but sound levels not good with a lot of people and shortage of sitting places. Sat at the dining table at 7. 40 though later than booked at 7.15 and people came after us. Waited 20 minutes to give in menu request and another twenty two for the starter only because we requested it. Normally at restaurants very charming waiters ask you if you would like some bread -later discovered this was not a polite welcome but an extra charge for bread. Eventually the starter came-one scallop floating in a very acid juice -£18 ! My husband’s cheese soufflé was very good so we shared that. We were told it was busy downstairs so therefore delayed food. After a further 30 minutes left the table not prepared to wait any longer for our main course. Receptionist quite aggressive when we went to complain said we hadn’t paid up front for our stay which you have to do - £331 She argued with us then said Oh yes you have- got you mixed up with someone else-no apology. So went to bed on 2 biscuits each from our room and no dinner. Never again. Don’t try it! Jeni B

A very disappointing and expensive dinner. The food was poorly executed and no where near the level you would expect from a restaurant charging around £30 for a main course. The service was odd, staff a little indifferent and the whole place devoid of atmosphere, despite the restaurant being full.

Booked in for a 12 noon Sunday lunch. Got there a little earlier. Bar staff not very friendly to start with. Once sat at the table in the side area , waisted came over and was lovely, chatty and made us feel relaxed and welcome. Food was lovely My husband had 3 courses, I had 2 courses and our daughter had the kids menu. Dogs allowed in the restaurant which was nice to see. All in all, a great experience Thank you

We stayed for 2 nights and brought our dog. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with local coffee, water & snacks. The breakfasts are wonderful, the dinners very good and the staff can't do enough for you. We definitely recommend a stay.

Staff were incredibly friendly and the cocktails were the perfect end to a summers day. We will definitely be back to enjoy the food offering too. We were too late to get a table for dinner so would definitely recommend booking in advance!! Great location too.

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding weekend at Bamburgh Castle. Firstly can I just mention the staff. Front of house, Ryan, you are born to be in hospitality, you made us feel truly welcome from the moment we stepped through the door even moving your car so we had a parking space. You were so kind and always had time to chat with us. Kate, you looked after us both mornings at Breakfast, coffee when we needed it the most and super efficient service and always with a warm smile. Housekeeping, you’re amazing our room (Armstrong) was meticulously clean, we have come straight home and ordered the pillows online as they were so comfortable. We loved our room as it had a separate dressing room which lead to the bathroom and the plantation shutters blocked the early morning light out perfectly. Breakfast was superb and cooked to a really high standard. All in all every member of staff we met was warm and welcoming and we loved every minute of our stay. Thanks Lord Crew Arms for a fantastic weekend.

We had the Seafood Soup. On the menu it described white fish, scallops, mussels, prawns. In reality, I received, 1 prawn, 2 very small mussels, 3 small pieces of white fish. No scallops!! This is simply not good enough for this standard of hotel.
