The hotel has a large balcony, but the balcony is connected to the next door, so you must close the doors and windows at night. The hotel does not have a hair dryer. The hotel is very old. It is a renovation of an old house. It has its own swimming pool and beach, but I don’t know how to get down to the beach.

Everything was okay apart from amenities like the iron took forever to get. Great view, clean rooms, excellent service and all round resort with bars, restaurants, spa, the beach at your doorstep but they need to renovate the building. The leaking inside the ceiling is not great to see in the corridors.

We have been away for 6 weeks travelling the country, and this was the absolute worst hotel we stayed in. It should have been closed while they are doing renovations. Builders and rubble everywhere, one small lift to service guests, cleaners and builders with rubble and buckets. Filthy dirty, badly maintained, the sliding door to the outside open patio did not lock, air-conditioned did not work. Loud pumping music into the night and early in the morning around the pool, where nobody is sitting. They boast three restaurants, of which two of them share the same menu and dreadful kitchen. Absolutely not disabled friendly, surly grumpy staff at the makeshift reception on check-in. A total nightmare. It has put me off Ballito Bay completely. Absolutely horrendous.

Rooms are old and dirty and poorly maintained. They look nothing like the official hotel photos. The hotel is generally in very bad condition and doesn’t seem to have any redeeming features - it is dire and we would have checked out straight away if it wasn’t already too late in the day. When parts of a hotel at under renovation you need to make guest aware of that before they book.

The location and sea view of la montagne was incredible! To wake up to the beauty of that was amazing, we stayed in a 3 bdrm apartment. Our room smelt so strongly of the fish restaurant the entire stay, our clothes smelt of it as well. The hotel is alot more worn than advertised, pictures looked alot nicer than what we walked into as well. There was rust around the showers and mold. Our keys daily did not work for the parkade as well as our room so that also got frusterating. I communicated my concerns to the front staff as well, they seemed to just say the maintenace guys would look at it. Other guests were having the same problems. Needless to say the surroundings of nature made the trip, the hotel left something to be desired unfortunately.
