Pondok Panji Ubud Reviews

Pondok Panji was super responsive and helpful even before arrival. They answered all our questions via WhatsApp and hooked us up with airport transfer for a very reasonable price. The hotel itself is a pleasant three or four minute walk from the main road which makes it quiet and secluded. It has only about 12 rooms so it’s a very intimate feel. It’s owned, managed and maintained by an extended family whose compound is right next door. They will help you with anything you need. Next day laundry service for about $1 USD per kg. They also gave us great advice for exploring the island and set us up with a driver who took us all over. The pool looks small in photos but totally kept the three kids, ages 9 to 12, in our two families entertained for hours at a time. It’s kept immaculately clean, and is maybe 1.5 m deep and about 3x5 m area. The hotel is slightly on the edge of the main city of Ubud. In low traffic times the hotel was about a 20 minute Grab ride from the monkey forest, for example. But during high season and in mid afternoon the same ride could easily take an hour. However, there were different options for groceries, snacks, and a number of decent restaurants within a five or ten minute walk which the hotel staff recommended to us and which we really enjoyed. The beds were comfy and large. They said queen size but my guess is they were actually king. One of the 12 rooms has two twin beds if you can reserve it in time. The kitchen and dining area was a shared space but we had plenty of room for our breakfast things in the fridge and enjoyed making toast and eggs every morning. Coffee (kopi bali style) and sugar supplied by the hotel. This hotel was built in 2024, I believe, and they just expanded from 8 to 12 rooms very recently. It is really a hidden gem.

Person who owned the property was a lovely guy, helped as soon as we asked. Room and the view was great. Location isn’t necessarily in the centre of Ubud, however it is easy to get in through a grab or motorbike.

I highly recommend this place to everyone! It's clean, well-equipped, has a good location, has a pool, and a shared kitchen! The bathroom is spacious and clean, and the beds are especially comfortable! There are no bugs in the room! I think I'll come back to this hotel next time I visit Ubud!

It is located a little further from the center of Ubud, so it will be difficult to get around without a bike. It is difficult to get to it, you need to carefully look at the signs. There is a Pepito 5 minutes walk away. There is no kettle or refrigerator in the room itself, but you can use them in the common area of ​​the kitchen, as well as cutlery. In our room on the second floor, the wifi did not work. For the money, the option is good.

One of the best guesthouses I've stayed in Bali! The villa is in excellent condition - everything is clean, tidy, you can feel that the place is really looked after. I'd especially like to mention the owner - incredibly attentive and caring. He was always in touch, helped with any questions and made you feel like you were in good hands. A nice bonus was the generator, which automatically turns on when the power goes out - this happens quite often in Bali, and it's nice that they took care of it in advance. Overall, the atmosphere is very calm, ideal for rest or work. I highly recommend it!

Great location of this small private hotel, a minute by motorbike from the noisy street, the rooms are quiet and calm. Nearby on the street are a couple of grocery stores, a pizzeria and a fairly popular place with delicious pork ribs. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the bathrooms in the rooms are incredibly huge. Good wi-fi, parking for motorbikes under a canopy. Of the minuses: in the rooms there are no small and so necessary refrigerators for beer, also there is no table for a laptop to work. Thank you!

Very nice hotel, everything is neat and very clean. The rooms are spacious and the large shared outdoor kitchen is nice for preparing meals independently. The person who manages the hotel is friendly and takes the time to chat.
