The hotel experience is really good, the boss and the boss's wife are very nice, the scenery is great, and the food is delicious. This is the best hotel experience I have ever had in Sri Lanka.

I want to write a review about our magical holiday at the Splendor Hotel ❤️ From Colombo Airport, we took a 1.5 hour transfer to the Balapetia area, where our hotel is located. At first, the area seemed so-so, it is not as touristy as, for example, Hakkikaduwa or Mirissa. The hotel is not located on the first line, but on a mountain, on the shore of a huge lake, where you can take a boat excursion (very interesting, by the way) or go fishing! The hotel is small, only 6 rooms, but for us, residents of a metropolis, this is a huge plus !! Everything is very clean, cozy and homely) ❤️ The owner of the hotel Niroshan and his wife Lakshmi are very sincere people! They cooked our breakfasts themselves (we chose only for breakfasts), you could also order lunch and dinner)! Everything is always very tasty, huge portions, excellent prices! They set the table wherever you want - in a restaurant, on the veranda, in the garden and by the pool 😀 Very intimate, it feels like you are alone in the hotel and everything is for you!) It's like you came to your beloved grandmother! The rooms are huge, everything is clean, the linen is snow-white, as are the towels! They clean as soon as you want (we didn't bother with cleaning, we walked all day) There is absolutely no dampness or mold in the room, as happens in Asian countries. You can walk to the sea, but it takes a long time in the heat, so a tuk-tuk runs from the hotel) for 800 rupees - that's 260₽ you can get to the sea in 7 minutes. We rented a car and did not use this option 😍 We also went to the sea for sea fishing with a friend of the hotel owner, caught a barracuda and many other fish - a lot of impressions! 🔥 The owner himself then cooked us dinner from our catch! We ate different dishes from our fish for 3 days 🤩 The pool is very clean, located in the garden, in the shade, which is very convenient! We swam in the sea in the morning, and when it got hot there, we returned to our oasis and swam in the pool)! The hosts laid out lunch for us right next to the pool! 🫶🏻 In general, the weather at the beginning of February is very comfortable, it never rained, it was not hot and not very stuffy (in comparison with Thailand or Bali at this time) What is also important is that the hosts know English well, so there are no problems with communication) Also special thanks to all the hotel staff, everyone is very attentive and caring! In a word, the hotel is my top 1 at the moment, we had a great rest 💯 We will definitely come back here and I hope more than once! Wat een prachtig hotel met klasse! Alles is mooi hier. De lobby, het restaurant, de terrassen, het zwembad, de gigantisch ruime kamer met groot balkon en fantastische badkamer. De kunst is echt heel mooi en passend in de omgeving. We hebben echt genoten van het heerlijke eten. We voelden ons zeer welkom door de betrokkenheid van de gastheer en gastvrouw (tevens eigenaar) en het vriendelijke en kundige personeel. De rust, de ruimte en het geweldige uitzicht over het meer hebben ons goed gedaan.
