We kicked off our celebration with a great dinner at Komorebi Teppanyaki. Chef Carlos prepared a delicious meal while entertaining us, and the friendly staff—Karla, David, Azael, Diego, and Manuel—made the experience even better. The breakfast was fantastic with a cozy buffet and first-class service from Musio and Nashial. The rooftop pool was a peaceful escape, where bartender Moises crafted delicious cocktails and even brought ice water for my furry friend. Dinner at Huichol was great with a themed buffet, and Raul and Angel enhanced our experience. We had breakfast at Huichol, enjoying fresh, locally sourced cuisine. Oscar checked in on us, while Alejandro and Marco Antonio provided excellent service and introduced us to a delightful local hot sauce. At the rooftop pool, Moises served our usual cocktails and our pet’s iced water, with Musio providing snacks. Both were attentive and professional. For dinner at Komorebi Teppanyaki, Azael, David, and Manuel greeted us warmly. Chef Gerardo entertained us with a live cooking show, and Captain Miguel ensured we were enjoying our stay. Irlanda and Cristian decorated our anniversary desserts, which were both beautiful and delicious. Salvador, Alejandro, Jonathan, Suzane, Guadalupe, Octavio, and Wendy made our breakfast special by catering to our preferences. At the Tzicuri Spa, Yessica and Maritza helped with check-in, ensuring we felt comfortable. Luisa guided us to the locker room, and we enjoyed the peaceful hidden pool. Fabiola and Yazmin escorted us to the massage room for a wonderfully relaxing experience—highly recommend it! Dinner at Salt and Thyme was delightful, with attentive service. On our last night, Chef Osman, Paola, Esteban, Samuel, Alejandra, Axel, and Leonardo surprised us with a special dessert that said, “Have a nice trip.” This thoughtful gesture truly enriched our stay. The hotel is a hidden gem in the forest, offering a modern setting to disconnect from daily life. The attentive staff, from servers to housekeepers, made us feel welcome, and they were especially kind to our pet. Thank you all for making our anniversary trip special! We’ll definitely be back! However, I was disappointed with the service at the front desk and the elite member concierge. Despite being a Marriott Platinum member, I was initially told we could only have a standard room due to our pet. Later, I found upgraded rooms were available for pet owners, and customer care helped secure this upgrade. When I informed the concierge, he treated it as a significant exception, which felt puzzling given my membership perks. Additionally, he forgot to provide my welcome gift. Overall, my stay was affected by the lack of transparency from the concierge.

$1,800 for 4 nights — and instant noodles for dinner Arrived at 10 PM — all restaurants closed, sent to the “snack bar.” Only thing offered: instant noodles in a plastic cup. Food the rest of the time was no better — cheap, flavorless, and stale. For this price, it’s a slap in the face to guests. Never again.

Too Long Didn't Read (Summary) We stayed at Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, an All-Inclusive Resort, from November 11 to 21, 2025. The resort offers a unique jungle setting and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Despite being near capacity on Sunday, November 16, the resort never felt crowded; we easily found spots at pools, the sports bar, food truck, and buffet without long waits. Finding a relaxing poolside spot was easy, even rolling out of bed between 9 and 11 AM. However, due to the Media Luna pool renovation during our stay, highly coveted areas (rooftop beds at Tower Zafiro and Aqua Jungle adult pool(s) were consistently occupied and required an earlier start. The food was generally good to great. While the variety is less than at some larger resorts, with only a single à la carte (Komorebi Teppanyaki Japanese Restaurant), everything we tried was of acceptable or above-average quality. The cuisine is Mexican-forward with American, Italian, and Asian influences. Foodies may be disappointed, but the selection was adequate. Komorebi Teppanyaki is limited to one reservation via the app, with potential for additional bookings through the front desk, though we did not try. Drinks were the most consistent we've encountered at an all-inclusive, never watered down, with a good variety of local domestic beer, cocktails, highballs, and blended options. The staff was exceptional, the best we have encountered, with excellent service reflecting their enjoyment of working there. Everyone we interacted with spoke English fluently or was accommodating with our limited Spanish. While the resort was satisfactorily clean, the unique jungle layout and massive property size exacerbated minor issues like leaves in pools, animal droppings on paths, and water pressure inconsistencies. We found none of these overly problematic but identify them as potential areas for improvement. If you seek a relaxed vibe in a unique setting, we highly recommend it. The jungle area is cool and shady, while the newer Zafiro tower is hotter and livelier. Avoid this resort if you are a self-proclaimed foodie or seek a party atmosphere. Tldr Less than 3.5 ⭐ so I am rounding down. I was here for 5 nights. I think this resort has a lot of potential, and with a few moderate fixes can become 4 ⭐ in my opinion. A few notables that are likely relevant to most guests: * Strength: Lots of pools/tubs: I counted at least 25 distinct water bodies, vast majority of which were not quite swimmable, being too shorts/small. The two identical but disconnected pools on floor 2 of tower 6 (Sapphire tower), at ~100 feet each, were decent for swimming, but not always, due to crowding. (The lazy river was probably decent as well, but of course depends on your luck / preference.) The only pools I used were the two aforementioned ones that were somewhat suitable for swimming (and the much smaller adults-only pool on the roof garden or the same building), and I really appreciated that they were always super clear and clean, without the strong chloramine odor. * Strength: Staff was all friendly and professional. I interacted with at least several dozens during my 5 night stay, all positively. * Strength: The beach club / area was fairly nice. I went only once, and the water was fairly calm, so if you like to swim, it's probably a nice place for swimming. • Major weakness: As other reviews have mentioned, the food left a lot to be desired. There were two main breakfast buffet cafes. Then the weakest meal time was lunch, when the beach club probably had the strongest menu, while on the main resort, it was mainly the outdoor food truck that served tacos and quesadillas, and Press Star bar that served a ~7 item menu of "lunch snacks" (which were not bad, but not "proper" meals), plus one of the buffet cafes turning to serving only two lunch specials. For dinner, there was the addition of the teppanyaki, but the quality was also quite average. Overall, I think the quality of the food was quite average -- and yes, as some reviews have mentioned, sometimes hot food was kind of cool -- which for a 4-star resort was kind of disappointing. Now, onto more narrowly scoped topics -- only summarizing due to word count limits: The room: My room was overall clean and comfortable, and I would otherwise rate it 4 ⭐ if not for the following (again, only summarizing) • Body lotion tube was small, ran out after two days but were not refilled/replaced. • Scale did not work, I requested fix that didn't happen. • Hairdryer did not work (replaced after reported) • Sink was kinda clogged -- took a minute to drain • If I ran shower for 10-15 minutes, a slight foul odor arose and persisted until a few minutes after stopping the water, possibly suggesting drainage issues causing waste water to backup closer to the surface? • The white pillow cases and bedsheets had several clear black stains and one orange spot, perhaps a lipstick/make-up stain.
