MONDI Hotel Bellevue Gastein

October 2023 - Was my favorite place to stay on our entire month trip! I keep telling friends to come here! We visited in off season so the childcare that is advertised was not available but they did have a kids room with activities for older kids maybe 7+ Our twins were only just turning 3 on this trip so too small to appreciate. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the community. I would have stayed longer and would love to come back. We did some driving around the community, walked to the waterfall. I snuck away and hiked up higher on the trail and walked down to see more of the waterfall. We tried to do a family friendly walk in the community over but found it lacking for interest for this age. We eventually ended up at a slide in the woods but it wasn't something spectacular for this age. I would have loved to do an alpine hike if the kids could be watched, or visit the mountain tops on gondola - but we didnt have the time as we only had one full day. The family wasnt feeling 100% either so they rested more. We spent some time in the 'hot' springs. If you are from Canada they are super cold. Im used to scalding hot springs that are hotter than a hot tub but these were barely pool temperature. around 30C. We ended up doing an evening dinner and alpine spa dip at the pools up the hill and had a good time even though they are built up and have waterslides (not like some canadian rustic ones) we had a great time. I would visit again when kids are older and can hike. Only con was the hike to parking the car -- it was a LONG walk and a steep climb. Not recommended for mobility restricted or older individuals.

This was a surprise highlight of our trip! I needed a place to fill in a few days while travelling in Austria. I read about the area and searched hotels and picked the MONDI. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed happy hour in the bar. Very friendly. I was in the panorama apartment which was perfect. The front desk was very helpful with advice and helped me with a late night pickup for my niece who had some train delays. Even gave her an upgrade. Thanks. I would stay here again!

We stayed here for a week and what a great choice. The view from our apartment was just breathtaking and was ever changing depending on the time of day. The location is ideal for getting around as we were there to enjoy walking in the Alps and the surrounding area and didn’t disappoint. Our accommodation was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool and sauna area was excellent for relaxing in after a day out walking. All of the team members we came into contact with were so friendly and always acknowledged you with smile. The assistance we received on planning our stay from Anna was excellent. If we return to this area we will have no hesitation on staying here again.

We had an excellent three night stay at the Mondi Hotel Bellevue Gastein Hotel. We had a small apartment, with a kitchenette and dining area, balcony and two sleeping areas (albeit one area doubled up as a lounge); plus, a bathroom & toilet and a separate toilet. The bathroom also included clothes drying line. Breakfast was good, especially loved the juicer. We had the set evening meal one night which was so-so, so for the next two nights we ate at the Jagerhausl restaurant just below the hotel. The hotel welcome meeting was good with plenty of food, drink and information. Hotel staff were very helpful. At check-in we were advised to book a lift pass for the following days (as had to be brought the day before use). We tried to use the hotel pool once, but it was very busy. The sauna and stream rooms were OK and there was a small outside area, as well as an indoor lounge, to cool down in. The hotel has a games room aimed more at teenagers, we did make us of this for some table tennis and air hockey whilst using the on-site laundry. The laundry only takes coins, but the hotel reception sorted this out for us. There is also a skittles/ bowling ally; whilst free for guests you do generally need to book it in advance. Something we did not take part in, and which we had, was the Thursday night Pig roast at the sister hotel: MONDI Schiefe Alm up in the mountains, (free mini-bus there and back from outside the hotel entrance). There is plenty to do in and around Bad Gastien, we could easily have spent the whole week here. There also is a good supermarket near the railway station, so easy to self-cater. Hotel transfers to / from the railway station were €3 per person.

We stayed 7 nights and it was first in this hotel in Bad Gastein. Very professional and helpful staff in reception with good advices on sightseeing, dining and travelling. We were pleased with kitchen facilities, that we used mainly for breakfast and for finishing a day with a glass of wine. The spa was excellent, after 15-20 km hike it was such a pleasure to relax in saunas. The hotel had a transfer that we used upon leaving which was convenient with heavy luggage. The only disappointment was a dinner in hotel’s restaurant, for 36€ very modest food choice, not included water or coffee. There is a number of good places to eat, we ate in the hotel just last evening because of curiosity. We will be back, no doubles. Thanks for great memories, good care, comfort and pleasure
