JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa

JW Marriott, what on earth have you done?! We’ve been staying at Turnberry Isle for over twenty years and have many special memories as our kids grew up coming here. However, since Tidal Cove and the new Orchid tower were built, it has become the least relaxing hotel on earth. Service has gone downhill too. For starters, the receptionist was incredibly rude. We booked a golf view room and were given something completely different, staring at a brick wall. When we queried this, we were told that they didn’t have any golf view rooms left, even though that was what we paid for. The female receptionist could not have been ruder and, frankly, couldn’t care less. This was only matched by the guys working the towels at the Cascada pool who you can barely get a grunt out of. And Corsair wasn’t much better. We’re so upset that this once friendly place (where we made so many friends with staff – Jimmy, Medgine, Melody etc) seems to have been replaced by rude unfriendly staff in a hotel that has just become a revolving door for conference folk and water park visitors. We won’t be coming back which is the end of an era for us.

The hotel and room was very clean and really well taken care of. The staff were extremely rude, responding to simple questions as if we were annoying them. This happened with all front desk personnel. They were very rude. Other staff that worked for tips like bell hops and valets were much more pleasant. The waterpark pool and lazy river were very dirty. Multiple slides were broken.
