The buildings along the wharf were built during the First Empire.
This large building served for many years as a salt warehouse, storing salt from the salt flats of the Franche-Comte. It was then bought by Mr. Maxime Forutne who gave the Hotel its name.
The hotel is fully air conditioned and has 25 rooms and 1 suite all equipped with a private bathroom with a toilet. We were enroute from Burgundy to Paris. The hotel has character, unlike the typical chain. The building is old, and this creaky floors are all over the hotel. We didn't get a view of the canal, but I can imagine the rooms with a view of the canal would be much more pleasant. We had rooms facing the parking lot. We only stayed for one night, and didn't really use any of the hotel facilities. The bathrooms are small....like almost unable to turn.

Ein gepflegtes und hübsches Hotel in toller Lage, leider sehr kleine Zimmer, bequeme Betten. Wir waren auf der Durchreise und suchten ein Zimmer, das leider nur für eine Nacht verfügbar war, wir wären gerne länger geblieben. Freundliches Personal und gutes Frühstück.

Personnel incompétent à la réception lors de notre arrivée méconnais connaissance de la carte des vins pour une région. Comme la Bourgogne demander une bouteille à 105 €. On répond que cette bouteille n’existe pas et qu’il y ait un problème dans la carte qui n’existe ni rouge, ni en blanc incohérent Pour une suite pas de café dans la chambre malgré la machine pas de gel douche, pas de shampooing, ménage hyper approximatif, ampoule manquante. Je vous passe les détails tellement cette expérience était surréaliste. J’ai quand même demandé à me faire rappeler par un manager, toujours rien. Bravo

accueil très agréable, chambre très correcte mais un peu petite pour un 4 *, petit déjeuner avec une variété de produits incomparable.Service parfait, un room -service à la hauteur.Hôtel très bien situé, proche du centre-ville, mais peu de places de parking donc à réserver

Bon accueil bien placé pour visiter le le centre ville ,proche de l'Yonne. Dispose d'un parking payant et privé. La chambre est vieillotte et la salle de bain encore plus vieillotte, on est plus sur un 2 étoiles. La chambre et sa salle de bain ont besoins d'une bonne rénovation

Great location and amazing staff but not sure this is a Signature Collection. Room was small, parking was not ideal and public space was limited. We had an upgraded room but no bathrobes or slippers. We did have a coffee machine but the pods didn't mention if they were decaff so we didn't use it. Several restaurants close by which was a plus.

Excellent hôtel pour connaître la vie des voisins ou les discussions de rue . Son emplacement dans le centre ville est idéal pour visiter la ville Les chambres sont grandes mais vieillottes. Personnel en dessous d un 4 étoiles ( réception / petit déjeuner)
