Upon arriving to the hotel the doormen were so polite! No line at all when we checked in. Robert, (manager) at the front desk greeted me with such a kind smile. Our room wasn’t ready yet so he upgraded us to an absolutely wonderful suite. It truly was so kind of him and my husband and I felt like we won the lotto. Thank you Robert for making our stay so wonderful. The hotel is a great central location in Austin!

Booked this hotel because we were going to F1 at COTA. This hotel was in an excellent location for us to catch the shuttle bus to the track, being only a 10 min walk to the shuttle bus. The hotel was lovely, the rooms were spacious, beds were comfy, linen nice and clean, towels were clean and fluffy. We had a spacious living area, which was comfy and a small kitchenette which had all the amenities needed. It was a shame that we did not fully experience all the hotel had to offer as we were only in Austin primarily for the Grand Prix. I would highly recommend this hotel, it was in a nice safe area and if you are attending COTA it is in an ideal place to catch the shuttle bus.

I enjoyed my 3 night stay at the DoubleTree Austin Capitol and hope to return to this great city again soon. Tex and crew at the Front Desk were very welcoming and kept me informed of everything the hotel had to offer. They also stayed in touch throughout my stay via text message to ensure my experience was positive. My 1 bedroom Capitol view suite was clean and I could tell they have recently undergone some renovations including large TV’s in the bedroom and living room. The bedding and pillows were extremely comfortable and I woke up each day feeling refreshed. The bathroom was spacious and featured a full size shower and a wall-to-wall vanity that gave me plenty of space for my toiletries. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and included a variety of fresh fruit, bacon, potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and pastries. The location was very convenient as well, being just steps away from the Texas State Capitol, the Texas State History Museum, and a short walk to the heart of downtown Austin. There are also nearby CapMetro bus stops you can use to explore neighborhoods further away for very cheap fares.

This was a great, no-frills hotel with a ton of space and probably the closest you can get to the capitol. I spent one night, got in late and left the next morning, but it had everything I needed and more. Pros: - Walk to the Capitol. From your room to the rotunda in under 10 minutes. - Great space in the suites, especially if you’re here for the legislative session, on a long term stay, or bringing the family. Room had a separate living area and closed off kitchenette with fridge, sink and microwave. - Restaurant and Bar downstairs. A group of EMS guys were having a blast down there when I arrived. - Small pool area with deck and conversation pit. - The hotel itself is not too large, so not very crowded at all! Cons - No Self Parking. Valet was $57/night. Garage parking nearby - but not close enough to be called “convenient” - Location is not close to other downtown sites. If you’re planning to hit a bar or go down to South Congress - you’ll have to drive or Uber. - Most rooms don’t have a view. Unless you count looking at a blank wall or into someone’s office… - Fitness center had everything you needed (dumbbells,peloton, stationary bike, elliptical and treadmill), but was small. It was just me and one other woman, who was doing calisthenics, but more would have been cramped . Not enough benches if two people wanted to lift weights. If you’re here for business - it’s great, comfortable and close. I’ll definitely be back.

During check-in, I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk manager, Tex, who was unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. My group had lost our IDs while floating the San Marcos River, but I had photos and had already spoken with Corey, who noted this in my reservation. Despite that, Tex was curt, visibly angry, and even withheld the complimentary cookies offered to other guests. The interaction left me feeling unwelcome. On the other hand, I want to recognize both Mattajia, who was kind and helpful, and especially Corey. From the start, Corey showed empathy, professionalism, and genuine care. He went above and beyond to make sure my departure was smooth and pleasant, completely turning my impression around. Thanks to Corey, my stay ended on a positive note. Hilton is lucky to have him.
