Except for the poor air circulation in the closed window, the room was pretty good.
One complaint: the potato chips left in the ice bucket when checking in were still there when checking out, which shows that the ice bucket was really not cleaned. Minor flaws are not major issues and do not affect recommendation.
Although there is no bottled water supply in the room, there is an ice machine and filtered drinking water (ice and room temperature) next to the elevator, which is also good from an environmental perspective.
The dining area on the second floor has basically been provided with hot water and coffee several times during the day. Thumbs up.

Pretty good location in downtown, easy to walk to public transport. It's an older hotel but meets all basic needs. Breakfast is simple but sufficient.

The location is great to access many things downtown. We could easily walk from the State Capital Building, Rainey Street district and to the South Congress area. The room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. We stayed on a higher floor so the street traffic noise wasn't an issue. The daily breakfast was standard, but it was all we needed to start the day. The only complaint we had was the elevator service was very slow, especially at check in times and during the breakfast hours. Overall we were very happy with our stay, for the price we paid we felt as though it was a solid offering.

Guests are forced to valet park for $59.99 a night. We checked in Friday afternoon and out Sunday morning. We were parked less than 48 hours/ parked 2 nights. I woukd expect $120 plus tax for parking. I was charged $227! I called the hotel and they said I have to call PNC Parking. I do do and am told to email him so he can refund the almost double overage. No response. No refund. The fact I’m forced to valet, then charged double and cannot seem to get this taken care of is inexcusable.

I stayed one night at the Hampton Inn in Austin before an early flight. The room was fine — clean but nothing special, and definitely nothing to shout about. I ended up unplugging the fridge because it was making a noise like a tractor, which wasn’t exactly relaxing. I can’t comment on the breakfast as I had to leave early, but the real letdown was the wake-up call. I booked it for 3:30 AM, and it didn’t come through until 3:50. Luckily, I’d set my phone alarm too, or I would’ve missed my taxi to the airport. Overall, an average stay. Convenient enough, but I expected a bit more attention to detail, especially for early travelers.

Had a one night stay and the hotel was excellent. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The shocker was the valet parking. It’s separate from the hotel and you will receive a $70 charge if you park a car. I can understand charging $40 or so but this was excessive.
