Fairfield Inn & Suites Austin-University Area

The stay at this hotel was great. Clean space and quiet environment. I love that they recycle and have a small pool inside. Jorge at the front was quiet friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Stayed 8/28 - 9/2. I contacted customer service to relay serious concerns and disappointment with my stay but no one has bothered to contact me so I will describe the issues here instead: no lifeguards on duty created hazardous conditions during a very busy holiday weekend (kids running and tripping on the pool deck, climbing on the waterfall rocks, jumping head first in shallow water), resort was completely understaffed (food left at lounge chairs all day because waitresses could not pick up in a timely manner which then caused birds to swarm the area, two bartenders during happy hour and could not get a drink and outdoor TVs were not working), our alcoholic drinks were served in very small cups and when we asked why we were told they were out of clean tall cups, room was messy and often not cleaned until late in the afternoon despite the fact that we were out of the room by 9am, the handle to the terrace door broke off in my hand, the fridge made loud noises all hours of the night), woke up everyday to the sound of power washers blasting furniture and cushions near the pool, hotel decided to host a conference happy hour in the arcade which made the space inaccessible to kids, waited on line for 20 minutes at San Marco cafe only to be told the room charge machine wasn't working (I had no credit card on me) and the cashier told took my food and told me to get a credit card and get back on line!, my family of 5 was told we could only have 4 beach chairs despite the beach being completely empty on Thursday - and then the attendant refused to leave until I tipped him. Just a bad experience overall, resort is quite expensive, service was poor, completely understaffed... it's a shame, we had a much better experience at Turnberry in June.

Great hotel. Nice, clean, great value. Underground parking to avoid heat and hail. Great place to keep car when going on an air trip. Shawna at the front desk super helpful and professional

The hotel is quiet at the time that we stayed. The room is very clean and staffs are fine. The location is work well for us. The only thing happened during the night that we arrived, the power outraged due to storm and we can not access the room by key or watch TV, but still AC in room.

Bad Stay The front desk clerk offered house keeping every night. I didn't get it for even one night. There was a power failure starting early in the evening of my 2nd day and I didn't have power or TV all night. The front desk clerks were not very helpful and add a bad attitude about providing feedback on the problems. I feel I should get a refund.

We arrived very late in the evening and the hotel employees were wonderful and the breakfast was good. However, there is construction surrounding the building and the air conditioner was either on at full tilt freezing the room or off. The rest of the room was comfortable and clean.
