Before arriving at the hotel, I was shocked by the scenery on the road. It felt similar to the Great Ocean Road in Australia. The hotel is right next to Pancake Rocks. The entrance is not obvious. The navigation showed it but couldn't find it. The cabin next to the beach is clean and comfortable. We rushed to Pancake Rock before sunset, which should be the essence of the west coast of South Island. After taking pictures, we rushed to the hotel and just didn't miss the sunset dinner.
Although the sound of the waves was loud, the sound insulation effect of the room was good, and I slept well.

Excellent central location with easy access around the North Shore and into the city. A new building with all facilities maintained in pristine condition. On line booking is very easy. We checked in extremely late (around 4am), and this process worked smoothly. We also booked a parking space under the building (not a critical requirement but convenient with limited street parking nearby). This was organised without any problem (the staff were very patient in handling my changes). While the hotel has no restaurant, there are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Everything was good with our stay (3 nights), and I would recommend for business or holiday travel.

Great place to stay, just a short drive to the shopping district and restaurants, reasonable price meals, friendly people.
The Staff including the cleaning crew were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent proximity to Westlake Girls High School where my wife was working, to the bus station - great transport to city and other areas, and to super eating/drinking places nearby. Easy to find from the motorway.

This hotel mainly exists for people using the nearby hospital. It is a basic hotel. Clean. We didn’t interact with staff. No complaints.
