Quest on Beaumont

Having lived in Auckland for 3 years we knew exactly the location which was ideal for our needs. We stayed here just over a week. The location was perfect - far enough away from CBD to be close enough and on the doorstep for the Fanshaw St bus stops. A decent sized supermarket is less than 5 minutes walk away. Whilst the hotel is close to the main motorway flyover and on Beaumont St itself our room overlooking Victoria park was actually very quiet. Our room (305) was a decent size with separate bathroom which contained what we needed - a washing machine and tumble dryer - we were travelling so picked this location deliberately. All rooms have this as standard. Hanging and drawer space was a premium however we got by. Rooms have a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and a small hob but no oven/grill. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and the ambience just right. Whilst this was booked as a package with flights we have no exact cost for the room but Quest have always said to contact directly as they can do the best deals. We didn't bother much with the room service but had clean towels when needed. The large bed was comfortable, the room air-conditioned (you can switch it off) and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Room was equipped with table and chairs for business visitors and free complimentary wifi is available throughout your stay. There are more food and drink places within a 15 minute walk than you would care to count however Quest itself is self catering so does not do food nor does it have a bar. There is a fridge in the room for the wine and beer though. Transport is easy - buses from CBD via Fanshaw St to the North Shore and beyond all stop within a 3 minute walk of the hotel. There is no parking on site but available locally at an extra cost. Late check ins are easy - just let the hotel know and they will sort this for you. So overall an excellent venue and location which we certainly would stay next time however a couple of things for management to consider.....but not detrimental to us nor will I downgrade because of this. 1. It would be an advantage if there was a safe in the rooms instead of leaving things at reception. 2. Maybe remove the dishwasher and replace with an oven/grill so that other things can be cooked - dishwasher with only 2 of everything is pretty pointless. 3. Have some rooms which have more storage room by replacing the working desk with additional drawer space for guests who stay longer than a couple of nights and are not on business.

Great motorway access easy parking On business, parking is handy being next door and easy access to the northern and southern motorways.

Great location and in spite of its proximity to the motorway, room was very quiet. Having the supermarket 3 minutes walk away is also very convenient. The dishwasher wasn’t working and they knew this when they put me in the room so that was a touch annoying but once I reported the issue, house keeping kindly washed up all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

Great apartment. Great apartment with amenities to self cater. Good location within walking distance to restaurants, supermarket and CBD. Staff were very helpful.
