SpringHill Suites Paso Robles Atascadero

Springhill Paso Robles/Atascadero seemed like a safe midway point to stop overnight during a long drive - and included a small miracle for 2025 -- free parking. From the outside the place looks pretty and welcoming; the pool area is gorgeous, views are lovely. Those were the high points for me. Long, musty hallways lead to old rooms in need of a reno. With a good chunk of the leather (or pleather) peeling off the in-room desk chair, you're sitting on lotsa exposed, dirty foam rubber. Shower glass enclosure was coated in a grimy film, probably lime. A couple of the plastic plates covering electrical outlets were cracked and falling off. Worse yet the room had what appeared to be fresh wine spills on the counter by the microwave, a used damp towel in the bathroom, and the door to the mini-fridge had mysteriously been left wide open, so fridge was warm. The the two water bottles that are for sale in the room for $5 apiece -- were gone -- only the cardboard price tags left behind. When I showed the front desk a quick video of the spills and such that clearly pointed to someone entering the room after it had been serviced, the employee (very nice but a lil spacey), did offer to move me. However I was super tired, and since the bed appeared crisp and untouched I told him I'd take my chances. Front desk assured me I wouldn't be charged for the waters -- and also sent up fresh towels. Upon checking out -- and though I did not ask for any sort of make-good -- the person on the desk did take a small percentage off my bill -- a nice gesture. However, upon reviewing my credit card a few days later, I did in fact receive an after-the-fact charge for the two water bottles. In the property's defense they were gracious when I called to inform them of the error and did remove the charge fairly quickly. But even with that smooth correction, it was still an extra 30-minute entry on my to-do list -- generated bc of communication and service lapses at several points in this brief stay. Have no idea if the 'used' room is a regular problem here or not. I'll chalk that up to a fluke. But the place does need a reno-upgrade and improved staff training. Would I try this Springhill again if out on a long drive? Maybe.

Great weekend getaway - love the atmosphere and friendly front desk staff. My buddies came to visit from New York and wanted some California sun. Instead of staying in Napa, we wanted to try something different visited Pasa Robles for the field of lights! Super cool during the summer nights! 10/10, will come visit again!

The hotel & property were fine. The staff was great. However, the cleanliness of the room was not up to par. The shower liner was moldy and the coffee maker was disgusting. There were stains on the comfoter. Thankfully, we don't use hotel comforters for that reason. Jazz provided me a $50 credit which you, eventually, are supposed to credit me back.
