My mom and I just spent 4 nights at The Little Nell and it exceeded our expectations! From our airport pick up to our airport drop off, everything was wonderful. The staff is so kind and friendly. They are willing to help with anything. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There’s ample closet and storage space and the bathroom (especially with the two sinks) is so nice. I found the beds to be very comfortable, as well. I loved the design of the hotel - it is very modern yet still feels warm. The coffee in the mornings is a nice touch, which I’ve found many hotels do not do anymore. I spent a few afternoons at the pool and it is so relaxing with beautiful views. Element 47 has a fantastic breakfast. I loved every minute of being there! Can’t wait to visit again.
Response from Property: Dear alexhB3780RV, Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your stay with your mom exceeded expectations—it means the world to us. From the comfort of your room to the design, amenities, and warm service from our team, we’re thrilled that so many details made your visit memorable. Our team takes great pride in offering intuitive, genuine hospitality, and it’s wonderful to know you felt so well cared for from start to finish. We are especially glad you enjoyed the morning coffee, relaxing afternoons by the pool, and breakfast at Element 47, some of our favorite parts of the experience here, too. It was truly a pleasure to host you both, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for another stay in Aspen soon. Warm regards, Henning Rahm General Manager The Little Nell

We stayed at The Little Nell for a few nights at the end of ski season. As first-time visitors to Aspen, we chose the hotel for its ski-in-ski-out access and five-star reputation. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. On the day we checked in, my husband and I (both Asian) stopped by Element 47, the hotel’s lobby restaurant/bar, for light drinks and snacks. When we approached the host stand, the Hispanic male host with facial hair told us he was prioritizing “house guests.” Confused, I asked if he meant hotel guests. He confirmed, and I clarified that we were indeed staying at The Little Nell. The fact that he assumed otherwise without asking made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. Given the hotel’s predominantly white clientele, it felt like an assumption rooted in how we looked. No guest should ever be made to feel out of place based on their appearance. Beyond that unfortunate encounter, the overall service lacked the warmth and attentiveness one would expect at this price point. Front desk staff were polite but cold. On the third day of our stay, the hotel conducted loud rooftop maintenance to remove ice, but failed to notify guests. My husband had injured himself snowboarding and needed to rest that afternoon, but the noise was unbearable. There was no advance warning - no written note, no verbal mention, nothing. Had we known, I would have found him a quieter place to recover. But still, at over $1,000 a night, you’d expect to comfortably enjoy your room at any hour. When we shared our feedback on the issues above with the manager on duty the day we checked out, his response was, “How do you want to be compensated?” That lack of accountability was disappointing and not at all in line with what we expected from a luxury resort. Overall, The Little Nell felt overrated and underwhelming. Staff training, especially around cultural awareness and guest care, needs serious improvement. Next time we visit Aspen, we’ll be staying at Hotel Jerome instead.
Response from Property: Dear lishfelish, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful and detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at The Little Nell. I want to personally acknowledge how deeply sorry we are that your visit fell short of expectations and, more importantly, made you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome—this is not the experience we strive to provide, nor one we accept as representative of our values or service standards. Your experience at Element 47, particularly the interaction you described with our host, is incredibly troubling to read. No guest should ever feel singled out or presumed not to belong—ever. We take concerns of this nature with the utmost seriousness, and I want to assure you that your comments have prompted an internal review of this interaction, as well as a broader conversation and training reinforcement around cultural sensitivity, unconscious bias, and inclusivity. Luxury hospitality is not simply about amenities—it’s about warmth, care, and making every guest feel seen, respected, and valued. I am sincerely sorry that we failed you in this regard. I also apologize for the disruption caused by our rooftop maintenance. While our intention was to ensure safety by removing dangerous ice build-up, you are absolutely right—guests should be proactively informed about such disturbances. Especially in situations where rest and recovery are important, the failure to communicate can quickly turn into a frustrating and avoidable experience. Regarding your spa experience, I’m sorry that the service did not meet your expectations or our own quality standards. We are currently addressing your feedback with the spa team directly and will ensure that this specific service is reviewed with care. Every wellness treatment at The Little Nell should offer peace, presence, and professionalism—we did not provide that, and for that, I apologize. Lastly, I want to acknowledge your disappointment in how your feedback was received during checkout. Asking “How do you want to be compensated?” without first listening fully and responding with accountability was the wrong approach. True hospitality means taking ownership—not deflecting it—and following through with empathy and clarity. We are reinforcing this across our leadership team, as meaningful dialogue is one of the most important opportunities we have to restore trust and learn from our guests. You’ve brought to light experiences that we are not proud of, but which we are grateful to be made aware of. Feedback like yours is not just important—it’s essential. It allows us to reflect, recalibrate, and improve in the ways that matter most. We can—and must—do better. Although I understand you may choose to stay elsewhere on your next visit to Aspen, I sincerely hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity in the future. It would be our privilege to welcome you back and show you the true hospitality The Little Nell is known for. With sincere apologies and gratitude, Henning Rahm Gene

Front desk was rude and unhelpful. No reason to be that way. This is a service industry. We should all be in here together. You are rude abc disrespectful. The lesson is learned not to be nice to people are not nice to you. I don't need to go on, but people be nice to each other.

Very rude bartender inside Ajax tavern My wife & friend ordered a glass of wine, from Colin - inside bar - glasses had lipstick on it & she nicely pointed it out. His reply, “well that’s the lip stain you women wear, it was washed thru the glass washer machine “ totally unacceptable, !! she asked for a new glass & begrudgingly, he gave her one We’ve witnessed this too much this season w the bartenders & their entitled rudeness We realize they get very busy & are very patient (unlike other guests) but to be so rude is not the service you expect to receive a little Nell hotel outlet She asked for her cc & Colin stated he didn’t have it - not the policy - which is true After looking incessantly for it , she asked again & yes!! He had kept it - again NO apology!!

We just wrapped up a long weekend here during mud season. We had issue with the heat in our room which the staff quickly tried address and ended up moving up to the Roch suite. It was very generous and unexpected. From the time we arrived until we left the hospitality was top notch. The suite was fanastic and loved the fireplaces and balcony. The bed was a Bryte ‘smart’ which had variable firmess and interesting, soft rolling motion feature. Very comfortable ! Mini bar was stocked and all non- alcoholic beverages were complimentary. You can arrange for free airport transport. We ate Element 47 for breakfast (vegetable scramble was soooo good) and Ajax Tavern. Both were good. There is 24 room service, but the late night menu is light but nice to have the option. The hotel is within walking distance of everything, including the Rubey Transit location where you can catch a clean and free bus to Aspen Highlands Plaza to get the Maroon Bells shuttle. This hotel may not have the unique, location specific vibe of the Hotel Jerome ( our second choice and I recommend the J -Bar there), but we really wanted a fireplace and balcony and we loved our stay at the Little Nell. Thank you !
Response from Property: Dear laurafm3000, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the excellent service and modern room with a fireplace and balcony. We apologize for the issue with the heat in your room, but we're glad our team could quickly address it and move you to the Roche Suite. It's great to know that the suite, with its fireplaces, balcony, and the Bryte 'smart' bed, added to your comfort. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the complimentary non-alcoholic beverages from the minibar and took advantage of our free airport transport. It is fantastic to hear that you had a delightful breakfast at Element 47 and a great meal at Ajax Tavern. We appreciate all your feedback and will consider it for future improvements. Thank you for choosing us for your getaway, and we hope to welcome you back soon! Best regards, Henning Rahm General Manager

I really can’t say enough good things about The Little Nell. It is simply put, a gorgeous, extremely comfortable and welcoming high-end hotel, sparing no expense to make one’s stay as perfect as possible. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by name and treated like royalty by the professional and well-trained staff. Our room was perfect — a good size and well designed and furnished, lots of plugs for devices, a lot of hooks for hanging wet clothes, very comfortable bed with really nice linens, fire place, usable balcony, big tub and a separate walk-in shower, huge bath towels, heated floors, and complimentary snacks and soft-drinks. The fitness center is very nicely done, not huge but more than sufficient for a good workout, and clean and well taken care of. There is a modest size outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The library near the spa is worth a visit, just to enjoy the decor. As noted above, service is impeccable. The location adjacent to the gondola and ski lift is an obvious plus (though we visited in the summer, so the ski-in and out aspect of the hotel was not a factor for us), though note that the noise from the gondola is audible at the pool all day and was audible in our room when we had the balcony door open. Our mountain-facing room was extremely quiet at night; I am a noise sensitive sleeper and this is always a plus for me. The fabulous Rio Grande Trail is a short distance from the hotel and great for running and biking. All in all, it was very difficult to leave after three fabulous days at the Nell. This is a first rate hotel.
Response from Property: Dear michaelj726, Thank you so much for your glowing review! We are thrilled to hear that your stay at The Little Nell was exceptional and that you felt welcomed and well-cared for by our team. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the many comforts of your room, from the cozy fireplace to the thoughtful touches like heated floors and complimentary snacks. We're glad you had the opportunity to experience our amenities, including the fitness center, pool, and the inviting library near the spa. Our location next to the gondola is indeed a great advantage, and we appreciate your understanding of the ambient noise during the day. It's fantastic to hear that your mountain-facing room provided a peaceful night's sleep, especially being a noise-sensitive sleeper. We're also happy you had a chance to explore the beautiful Rio Grande Trail. It was truly a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Aspen soon for another fabulous stay! Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Best, Henning Rahm General Manager

A beautiful hotel right at the gondola on Ajax Mtn. The guys at the ski concierge were excellent as were a majority of the staff. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with free soft drinks and snacks restocked every day. They have free shuttles to all the other resorts on the half hour. Great holiday Our experience was that people go to Aspen to be seen and to see celebrities so the mountain was empty which suited me
Response from Property: Dear RMM1234, Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our excellent luxury hotel and its prime ski-in/ski-out location at the gondola on Ajax Mountain. It's wonderful to know that our ski concierge team and the majority of our staff made a positive impression on you. We're glad you appreciated the spacious and beautiful rooms, along with the daily restocked complimentary soft drinks and snacks. Your observation about the unique Aspen atmosphere is interesting, and we're happy that it allowed you to enjoy a less crowded mountain. I visited last December with my dad for an early season ski trip. We heard AMAZING things about the Little Nell from friends, so we were excited to book our stay here. It was our first time skiing Aspen (we usually ski in Deer Valley or Europe) so we wanted to try out both the Little Nell and Hotel Jerome as we heard those were the two best. We found it a bit underwhelming and disappointing, especially relative to our stay at Hotel Jerome. Service We heard that the service here was outstanding, we found it very cold and at times unprofessional. Our breakfast server was quite rude. The concierge was not the most helpful with making dinner reservations. Overall it was fine, but certainly no standout service except at the ski room! The ski room had excellent service and were very friendly. Room It felt very outdated and not cohesive. The barn sliding doors are quite bizarre. The balcony was small. The bed was very comfortable though which is critical after a day of skiing. Food Nothing memorable, but the food was fine. Breakfast was good each morning - there could be a few more options. Overall, by no means is the Little Nell a bad hotel. In our experience, it was not as special as we had heard, so we were quite disappointed with our stay and wouldn’t be our first choice to book again in Aspen. By contrast, we really loved Hotel Jerome and found the service to be much superior.
Response from Property: Dear l1ly4, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We appreciate your honest review and are sorry to hear that your stay at The Little Nell did not meet your expectations. We're pleased that you enjoyed the ski concierge service and found our bed comfortable, as these are key aspects of a ski trip experience. We take your comments about the service and room design seriously and will use them to improve. We're committed to providing exceptional service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and it's clear that we fell short during your visit. Your feedback about the breakfast service and concierge assistance will be addressed to ensure better experiences for our future guests. We strive to provide a memorable and cohesive experience for all our guests and regret that this was not your experience. Your insights are invaluable, and we will work diligently to enhance our offerings. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn and grow from your experience. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future to show you the true Little Nell experience that so many of our guests rave about. Best wishes, Henning Rahm General Manager

My kid and I stayed at the Little Nell in April and had a fabulous time. The location is unbeatable, with a short walk to almost everywhere in town and at the base of the mountain. I did not get to ski as I’m a terrible skier and can only do greens, but anyone who can do blues and above will find it super convenient. The rooms are super spacious and ridiculously plush. I’ve never had such thick and soft carpet in any other hotel. All the linens were top grade, and loved that everything in the mini bar was complimentary (my son loved that part). Service was excellent without being overbearing. My son is already asking when we can come back.
Response from Property: Dear adelly, I am delighted to hear you and your son enjoyed your stay at The Little Nell in April. We hope to welcome you both back to Aspen soon! Best Regards, Henning Rahm General Manager

The Little Nell was the perfect choice for a girls’ trip for Christmas shopping. We loved being able to walk anywhere we needed to go, or be driven in one of their SUVs to dinner. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, and the rooms beautiful. We loved sitting by the fire at night and turning on a Christmas movie for a cozy experience. We plan to bring our families back with us to visit this December!
Response from Property: Dear lane2765, Thank you for your kind words about The Little Nell, our staff, and Aspen! I am so glad to hear you and your friends enjoyed holiday shopping, and we look forward to welcoming your families back in December. Best Regards, Henning Rahm General Manager

This place is truly exceptional. Not so much because of the building per se (although everything is very nice). But the people make the difference. This staff - with any exception - are very skilled, super well trained and extremely professional while being also just humanly nice and caring. Best place in A.

You will never find more accommodating personal attention than you get at the little Nell. From being greeted by the charming bellmen who wish your belongings to your suite when you arrive to being handed a glass of fine champagne by Rob the front desk manager, you will feel like royalty. From the moment you arrive, they remember your name as well as your dog's! Their concierges are all excellent. Carol was one of my favorites. Their complimentary transportation was exceptional. Heidi was our favorite housekeeper as she delivered all of our special requests. Marlene and Ana were also great. Unfortunately the exceptional restaurant Element 47 wasn't open for dinner on Monday or Tuesday during our stay, but their breakfasts sure made up for that. Louis from Mexico City was beyond welcoming as well as accommodating with the great service by Sheila. Their coffee service was over the top with warmed creamers and robust coffee. The complimentary pistachio muffins were an unexpected treat from their phenomenal pastry chef. I asked for her original recipe for the outrageous home made dog bone treats only to find out it was a secret! No problem as we will be back soon. You must try the lemon soufflé pancakes as well as all of the fresh ingredients in the made to order omelet surrounded by delicious sausage and perfect potatoes. Their flowers and amenities around the pool were top notch. The complementary treats and beverages in our suite made us feel like we were on a luxury cruise! We couldn't have had a lovelier vacation!
Response from Property: Dear Queenbridget, I am so pleased to hear your stay at The Little Nell was so memorable! Thank you for recognizing several staff members - we will be sure to relay your kind words to all who were mentioned. We hope to welcome you back to Aspen in the near future!
