A private and quiet setting overlooking the Apostle Islands National Park. Relaxing getaway for two or plenty of space for a gathering of sixteen. Enjoy enchanting glimpses of wildlife; deer at dawn, lake trout and salmon migrating in spring and fall. The extra-wide, permanent dock reaches 140' into Lake Superior and provides a perfect place to relax on the adirondack chairs and watch children at play or enjoy a serene moment at sunset. Our architecturally designed cottage has an old world feel. The all-wood interior on the main and upper floors, most of which is milled from old growth Douglas Fir timbers, lend warmth and character to the home. The wrap-around screen porch provides protected outdoor space for dining, reading, playing cards or taking an afternoon nap. The fieldstone rumsford fireplace will take the evening chill out of the air and the 12' dining table will seat a crowd for special meals prepared in the gourmet kitchen. The lower level 'rainy day' room features table tennis, a kids rock-climbing wall, a large flat screen TV monitor with AppleTV. An electric keyboard and an acoustic guitar is there waiting to be strummed. Plenty of books, games and puzzles line the shelves throughout the home. We are 7 miles from the town of LaPointe where you'll find restaurants, bars, ice cream and souvenir shopping. There are tennis courts available as well as a Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course. Moped, kayak and bicycle rental also available. Take the ferry over to Bayfield for a day trip of shopping and dinner out. Available for weekly rentals during summer months or shorter periods in fall, winter and spring.
