A bit of a let down for a 5 ⭐ facilities. 

Breakfast : 3/5
Bed : 1/5 (Very hard, had to ask the housekeeping to add on a topper)
Facilities : 3/5 (a bit disappointed on the creaking sound of the door)
Parking : 2/5 (basement parking is not stroller friendly)
Kids room : 0/5 (there’s a smoking odour in the room maybe from the ventilation)
Front desk : 1/5 (lack of professionalism, complain from 7am, attended at 8pm,the staff that help me checked in couldn’t speak in English properly and not even in Malay, very let down for a 5 ⭐)

I will rate it as good value for money if it wasn’t a 5 star hotel for the overall amenities which are much more available than a normal boutique hotel.

But overall not worth the price paid.
Background, I am a heavy traveler and had more than 20 trips per year on hotel alone so I believe my opinion is justified knowing the differences. We even extend the trip by booking at their partner hotel (boutique) and had better experience in fact.

Hope they can look into this😌 but I thanked the housekeeping and maintenance for attending to our needs 🩷

Let me tell you about this hotel I just stayed at! We arrived at midnight, and even though we were half-asleep, the friendly and professional staff at check-in were like a warm cup of cocoa on a winter day—totally comforting! They offered genuine help, and trust me, we were pretty clueless about everything when we got there.

Now, the pool? Wowza! It’s an absolute icon! And the building itself keeps that charming colonial style, perfectly placed in a heritage area. If you’re tired of the same old tall buildings and flashy designs, this hotel is like a refreshing glass of lemonade after a long hike—just what you need!

I stayed in a corner room, which was fantastic. I had this little nook that was perfect for relaxing and, believe it or not, for my packing and unpacking circus act. You know how it goes—shoving everything into the suitcase and then desperately trying to coax it all back out like it’s a game of Tetris! 😂

Now, here’s a hidden gem: the restaurant on the ground floor. We ended up dining there because, let’s be honest, who wants to trek around in the heat, right? But let me tell you, it was like finding gold at the end of a rainbow! The dishes were super impressive—totally elevated my expectations!

To sum it all up, if you want a charming hotel experience with a touch of history, a great pool, and delicious food, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough. Go ahead and book it—you won’t regret it! ❤️

I had a great experience at this hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. There's a 24-hour mart just downstairs, which makes it super easy to grab snacks or drinks anytime.

The location is excellent – lots of popular restaurants and night markets are within walking distance. Perfect for food lovers!

A few things to keep in mind:

The TV isn’t a smart TV, so only local channels are available
No conditioner provided, and the shampoo can be a bit drying – if you have long hair, it’s better to bring your own
Overall, a very convenient and pleasant place to stay. Would recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Most TV channels not working…..
The shampoo and body shampoo bottles are so tall that fit the hole just right……imagine how you need to squeeze your hand in to press the shampoo (see attached photo)

However, must say that the tiny metal rack on top of the basin is one of the best simple designs I have ever seen…….gives you ample space to store your toiletries real tidy without getting wet!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

The friendly and attentive doorman from Nepal added wonderful feeling whenever you get in and out of the hotel 👍🏼

The hotel is so cute. The door is at level 1, but the rooms is at level 2. So when you enter the door, you need to go upstairs and you will see the living room. The bed rooms is on the 2 sides, separated by the living room. The window on the main bed room is so unique and feels like classic. I never seen this before.

This hotel location is also the best, at least for my trip. It's near to the kimberley street. A lot of cafe and tourist spot close to this hotel (walking distance).

Big thanks to the front desk staff… absolutely amazing. Location is great, close to 1st Avenue mall and all local attractions. The room is new however some sign of water leak underneath the laminate floors other than that everything is new. Washing machine and dryer was pretty handy

A clean, cosy and modern room on top of a row of heritage shophouses, comes with an equipped kitchen, a dining table and sofa couch. The washing machine is a plus! Location is great as walkable to many Michelin-recommended eateries. Can be rather noisy at night when cars passed by.

First, it was so noisy at night that I couldn't sleep at all. There was music and singing outside, and then the sound of motorcycles in the morning made me speechless.
Second, there is no sunlight and no ventilation in the living room, and there is serious water leakage next to the toilet seat.
Third, the service attitude is extremely bad. You need to pay 224 MYR when you arrive at the store. You don’t have enough cash, and 10 MYR is missing. I said to get it and give it to her, but she said no. Throwing me away, she went back by herself on a motorcycle. It was really funny. I thought she had something to do, but she also went back to the room. I walked back on a hot day. I stayed for two days and wanted to continue. I asked How much is she, she told me 788 a day, now all platforms do not have such a high price, I think she is defrauding me, quote at will, and I will post the price of other platforms for three days later, you will know how big the gap is, she belongs to deceive consumers

It was the best place to stay.
There was a simple kitchen, microwave, kettle, washer/dryer, and family refrigerator. In addition, there was everything we needed.
It was spacious enough for my one-year-old to run around, so he didn't get bored even when it was raining and we couldn't go out. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so it's not a problem even if you don't eat.
They clean the room every day, so it was a comfortable stay.
As long as you remember to check in (WA 15 minutes before arrival), it's comfortable.
I would like to stay at this place again when I come to George Town. I recommend it.

The Magazine Vista Hotel in Penang is more cost-effective. When choosing this hotel, I consulted for a long time, such as booking (more reviews, good or bad), Ctrip (only a simple review). Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.

Great location.  Very close to Marina Sands Bay, only a block away from the National Gallery Singapore, close walk to the Metro, even a Metro exit directly to the mall this hotel is over, so if raining no need to go outside.  The room is small but well laid out, we didnt go to Singapore to stay in a hotel. I like the entry door, they have a small blackboard you can write on to personalize your entry, nice artistic touch.  It has a laundry room in the lobby, a work out/gym area.  Breakfast is a normal hotel breakfast bar.

I stayed for 3 days 2 nights with my two kids, and we had a wonderful experience. The location is great, very convenient for families, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

They kindly provided us with an upgraded room and allowed early check-in, which made things much easier with the kids. Check-out was fast and smooth too.

Overall, the rooms is clean and cozy, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Definitely will return on our next trip!

The living room was surprisingly super big, we loved the kitchen space and the huge fridge which is the largest one we have seen so far in a hotel room 😁 basically a serviced apartment style where it was located at Rocher mrt, relatively convenient but alot of shops are closed late at night 🌉 so luckily they had a 24/7 noodles vending machine where we made our dinner and the packaged salmon was super yummy! The bed was comfy but abit sad that there were only 2 pillows 🥲 the TVs were very nice to be able to connect our phones to watch YouTube or Netflix on 📺 the cleaning takes place 3 days a week and the Saturday that the lady came to clean the room, she took away our hand soap and didn't replace the toothbrushes so kinda didn't know where to look for her to get more 😅 the shower area was kinda small as well and the provided toiletries keep falling to the ground as the ledge was very cramped with 3 bottles 🚿 the greatest upsides were the kitchen/living area and the swimming pool which we had a blast as it was very big and deep enough that it came to our chest 😃 🥽 

great that we could extend our checkout time for 1h more and the checking in and out was super fast which was great 👍 do note that the reception is on the 3rd floor that everyone has to take a lift up to, think it's not very clear at the ground level as there were some lost tourists that we guided to come up with us. Then to go to your rooms, another lift needs to be taken up from level 3 after walking past the reception 🛗  a slight disappointment was that a request was made to assist with setting up my partner's surprise bday celebration before our stay but nothing was done (a small cake would have been nice), anyways thankfully I brought my own supplies ~ 

Overall it's a nice stay so 4/5 ⭐

Hotel 30 Bencoolen Singapore is perfect for solo travelers! Its compact, modern rooms are cozy and well-equipped, while the central location makes exploring easy. One of best hotels and apartments on orchad road.  Connected to paragon mall via the parking and also in bridge, covered from sun and rain.  

hosted our daughter's first bday party in the finlayson suite. probably the best room type thanks to the huge space. the staffs were friendly and helpful however on the last day we felt like the non local receptionist wasn't really nice at check out. otherwise all else was good. we truly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is not new, but come with rather good room condition. It is near to Havelock mrt and many buses to other location in Singapore. Quiet place with good food choices nearby. I have to highlight the Chinese cleaner (young lady) was very friendly. It was really great to get some help from her on my first day of arrival. Such a kind person!

Located about 8 minutes walk from Nu Sentral, there are plenty of food options nearby.  We had a good dinner at nearby Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant.  It is actually inside the Menara Shell Building.  Transportation is also very convenient as it is within walking distance to KL Sentral transport hub.
The room itself is huge.  It is more like a residential hotel to me.  Completely equipped kitchen accessories are provided - rice cooker, microwave oven,  electric cooking hot plate and many others.  Very suitable for family stay.
Bed is comfortable with too strong aircon.  One Queen bed and a sofa bed for 2 adults.  There is also a working desk in the room.  Strong hot and cold water pressure with all bathing gel provided.
2 swimming pools on the 5th floor.  One open air and one indoor.  The gym is also on this floor.   If you need to do laundry, the laundrette is also on the same floor.
Check in was smooth and straight forward with friendly smile.  We had an enjoyable stay.

I booked a 2-bedroom unit and I am quite satisfied. The rooms are new, clean, and very spacious. It even has a small private corridor connecting the two rooms. We didn't use the kitchenette much, but it’s nice to have a large fridge to chill our drinks. The washing machines are on the top floor, which is convenient. The hotel is not within walking distance of the attractions, but we used Grab, so it wasn't a problem.

Ascott star hotel is one of the best hotedls i've ever been in , it is super super clean and comfy the studio was amazing the space is big i loved my stay there ans enjoyed swimming at night watching the twins tower at the roof top , i am definitely gonna stay here every time i come.

Ascott KL is centrally located just a 5 minutes walk from KLCC, super convenient to head back to hotel after the fountain show. I booked through Trip.com but they told me I had to pay the tourism tax but shortly after, refunded me. Was a bit confused the my requirement of doing so but I've left it at that

The room is very clean and the location is great. Strong showers and bidet. Only issue I have is that the room is too dark even with the lights on. Other than that everything is great and definitely will return to stay.

Staff are attentive and allowed a early check in when the room is available (1hr early!) 

Quick to respond when we had issues with aircon for one of the rooms. And offered new towels, toiletries when we didn’t ask.
