Hotel Parens Onoya ★★★

📍 1841-1 Hakikugumiya, Asakura

"I went on a family trip. The staff was friendly, and the hotel lobby and garden were so pretty!! Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was such a pleasant memory. I was worried because the price was cheap, but it turned out to be unfounded."

📍 203-1 Hakishiwa, Asakura

"1. It's located in a remote area and high up in the mountains, making it difficult to access without a shuttle or rental car. 2. Perhaps due to a lack of staff, there are many Nepalese staff. Overall, the staff are friendly. The Japanese female staff at the restaurant, who tries to speak a little Korean, is also very helpful. 3. The in-room baths are not kakenagashi-style hot springs, but rather refillable. The water is very cold and lukewarm, even colder than hot springs. Bathing is difficult without adding hot water. 4. The public baths close at 11:00 PM (outdoor) and 12:00 AM (indoor) the next day, so availability is limited. The water isn't slippery, but rather sulfuric. The public baths aren't usually crowded. 5. As the name suggests, the view is everything. 6. The tatami mats in the rooms can be a bit strong, so those with sensitive skin should wear a mask. The amount of drinking water provided in the rooms is limited. 7. The food menu is varied, but not particularly diverse, and the portions are rather small. It's basic, neither exceptional nor lacking. 8. They don't offer any assistance with luggage. 9. The smoking room next to the lobby restaurant is a mistake. It would be better to have it outside. 10. The parking lot is relatively spacious."

📍 Itaya, 1-1-1, inside Fukuoka Century Golf Club, Asakura

"A new onsen hotel in a golf club. The room is spacious and comes with private onsen. It feels very new and clean. Most of the staff doesn’t speak English but it was ok using translator. The filipino male staff was very helpful and we appreciate that."

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan
9.6 (70 reviews)

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★

📍 Akizuki 1058, Asakura

"I absolutely loved Seiryuan. Having stayed at dozens of onsen hotels across Japan, Seiryuan stands out as one of the most unique. The hotel is tucked away in a serene location, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The views are breathtaking; from the floor-to-ceiling windows in our room, we could see mountains, trees, a small bridge over a stream, and lush greenery. Dining in the restaurant, I was even more captivated by the stunning scenery. With only six rooms, the hotel doesn't have a large staff, but their service is exceptionally thoughtful. My husband accidentally splashed mud on his trousers because of the rain, and they immediately took them to be cleaned. The proprietress speaks several languages, including Chinese. Her gentle demeanor and graceful presence truly convey a sense of peaceful tranquility. The dinner at the restaurant was of superior quality. We were served by a young man who was warm and attentive. He specially brought me a small birthday cake and sake. As dinner concluded, he used a translation app to tell us that fireflies were flying near the hotel entrance and offered to take us to see them. At that moment, the proprietress also arrived, and the young man introduced her, saying, 'This is my mother.' The fireflies twinkled among the tree branches, and then she caught one for us, which we later released back into the night. A truly wonderful Seiryuan."

View Hotel Heisei ★★★
"The location is on the mountain, quite remote, but close to Daguanyin. But the view is nice. If you choose a private hot spring room. The landscaping is very nice. However, all options include two meals. Somewhat restricted. It would be nice if there was an option to stay overnight. The outdoor and indoor public hot springs are completely separate. For outdoor use, you need to go out of the hotel and use it nearby. But the view is great, and some of the shower areas are open-air. When it's cold, it's uncomfortable. But there are also indoor showers, but cold wind will blow in. This is not ideal. Wish there would be an option for accommodation only, without breakfast or night. Will stay again if I have the chance."

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★
"We had the most amazing time at Seiryuan. The hospitality, the culinary experience at dinner, the privacy (we had the whole first floor to ourselves), the vibe of being surrounded by nature and of course the most memorable moments when we enter the dining hall with the most beautiful frame of the night view of the pond - Wow! Would definitely come back to Asazuki just to stay at Seiryuan :)"
