We enjoy returning to the quiet rustic charm of the hotel. Simple, lovely and homey. Its a good base to the Monks Cowl hikes. Its a little retreat and not bold and brashy like many Berg hotels ... a nice place to nurse a cup of tea on the lawn after a hike

We spent four days at The Nest Hotel in the Drakensberg for a bowling tournament and couldn’t have asked for more. The service was warm and welcoming, and the hotel offered excellent value for money. Evenings were a treat with delicious 5-course dinners, while the hearty breakfasts kept us going throughout the day. The setting is unbeatable, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, and there are plenty of local attractions and points of interest close by to explore between games. A bowls-friendly venue with great food, comfort, and atmosphere – highly recommended.

We had such an incredible stay at The Nest! The staff went above and beyond to make our family celebration truly special. We were a group of 8 spanning three generations, gathered to celebrate a 21st birthday, and every detail was perfect. The rooms were spotless, with super comfortable beds, electric blankets, and underfloor heating — plus hot, powerful showers. We enjoyed scenic walks, abundant birdlife, and the spa was an added treat with very reasonable prices. A memorable, happy stay — thank you to The Nest team!
