Very quiet but fenced so if you don't book a safari, you get bored. In addition, you have to pay exorbitant taxes to access the park, so the hotel!

Amazing experience, we loved it and we can’t wait to come back. The peaceful, the environment, the atmosphere, the staff, the river with crocodiles and the garden with baboons and monitor lizards are unbelievable. The food is excellent and the restaurant marvelously located.

As a family we stayed at Sarova Shaba for 3 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We were entertained over the New Year festivities with evening entertainment and the kids movies was a hit with our children. The food was faultless - well done chefs on all counters. Only recommendation is the hotel is out-dated on its interior especially the rooms, there's no TV, the bathrooms are very old, so a modernization could be considered to keep the hotel on par with the other Sarova hotels. For the game drive, we paid for a park ranger to join us in our car and he didn't help us with the drive - sadly he took advantage to fall asleep during the trip and provided no information on the animals we spotted. It is far better to follow another van than hire a ranger.

My husband, daughter, brother and sister in law spent four glorious days at sarova shaba. We enjoyed the hotel ambience. It was very peaceful and respectful of nature. The adjoining rooms we had were great. We really appreciated the turn down service every night. The staff were all the courteous and friendly. The spa was amazing. My husband had a deep tissue massage and my sister in law, daughter and I had pedicures. We also all enjoyed fish therapy. A guide was kind enough to join us on a safari to help us find the animals.HOWEVER...the highlight of our trip was the food. Chef Robert did an amazing job with the menu we were not disappointed meal after meal. We especially enjoyed the boiled goat which we had our first night. Chef Robert came out to the dinning area and mingled with guests. He was instrumental in helping us celebrate our daughters 5th birthday. We will definitely be back to Shaba! Also want ensure I mention Chef Edwin who was in charge of breakfast and that didnt disappoint either!

We stayed there with my wife for 5 nights and 7 days for a vacation. It was an incredible experience; The location was great, in the middle of the reserve besides the great EwasoNyiro river. Croco views, pool, attentive staff, and responsive to calls at any time was notable. Food was great! Game drives, fish therapy, and the gym well equipped, I enjoyed it. Awesome stay.

We had an amazing stay at Shaba. Food at the restaurant courtesy of chef robert was tip top. The team building with Nancy and animation was out of this world, it was fun filled educational and a learning experience. Manager Robert, the hostess Nimmo, Soye the guitarist were upto the task. The rooms were so comfy and cosy.

We had a great and beautiful time in shaba, the hospitality was awesome all the way from checking in the front desk gentleman Peter was very welcoming. Chef Robert made our stay so good with so tasty and great food that we planning to go back again next year. Noticed a huge change with food compared to the last time I was there 2 yrs ago we couldn't get enough of the food Thank you chef Robert and the breakfast Gentleman chef Edwin such an amazing guy the breakfast was so good.

The Sarova Corp and *******, Posted that we had to pay $140 US upon arrival by credit card, NOT CASH. At the gate to the Park, we were told that we had to pay $140 per day in cash for our stay at hotel in Park. Including day of our arrival after Park hours!
We had no US dollars in cash, so they let us go to hotel to get money. The Shaba lodge had no dollars and could not give cash of any kind for credit card withdraw.
So we spent the second day negotiating and reception called a bank in distant village to see if they would let us use their atm to get $600 USA
in Kenya Shillings. We spent day getting Shillings going twice on a dangerous gully filled dirt track for 10 kilometers! Not a road!
Your ******* Insurance with Allianz would not cover the Money lost by theft,
as it did not fit in trip interruption guidelines.
I said it was theft by misrepresentation but they did not listen. They sent me a refusal. Thus more time and money wasted.
