Uga Ulagalla - Anuradhapura

We absolutely loved our stay at Uga Ulagalla — it was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. The setting is stunning, with lush paddy fields, serene landscaping, and beautifully preserved colonial architecture throughout both the main reception/restaurant building and the private villas. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in warmth and care. The welcome ceremony was rich with history and meaning, and the team truly went above and beyond to make us feel pampered. Special thanks to Ruwan, who received and farewelled us with such grace; Yoshina, the most loving and heartfelt guest relations manager; Theekshana, our cheerful and attentive restaurant waiter; and the talented sister-chefs Diluka and Manel, who made our last dinner trully special. A standout experience was dinner at Kamatha, the feature restaurant, where we were treated to authentic Sri Lankan cuisine cooked with traditional methods. The team took the time to explain the ingredients, cooking processes, and the symbolism behind the space — it was immersive and unforgettable. Our Villa 17 was perfect: spacious, elegant, thoughtfully designed, and complete with a private pool and amenities like a speaker to play our favorite music. We also loved exploring the grounds by bike — such a peaceful way to connect with nature and the spirit of the place. Every detail felt intentional and full of heart. Uga Ulagalla made our honeymoon truly unique and unforgettable. Bravo, UGA — and thank you!
