Le Grand Hôtel Diego

Petit-déjeuner en terrasse. Nous sommes deux et la serveuse prend une seule commande qu’elle sert. Moi, rien. ....je demande à commander. Vient l’addition, j’attends la monnaie qui ne vient pas. Je me déplace à la caisse. La serveuse n’a pas encore regardé, elle envoie des SMS sur son téléphone...... Service pas du tout professionnel. Un quatre étoiles, vaut mieux en rire.....

Se pensate ai Grand Hotel europei… dimenticateveli. Carinissimo lo staff, io e mia moglie abbiamo soggiornato lì il giorno del mio compleanno e mi hanno fatto trovare un pensierino con un biglietto di auguri in camera: apprezzatissimo! Per il resto struttura abbastanza vecchia, nella camera abbiamo trovato formiche e diversi ragni, la pulizia non era il massimo.

Stayed 15 nights in January, 5th stay at this hotel. Beautiful hotel ideally located because it is close to shops, restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms on the pool side are much quieter because on the street side you can hear the nightlife nearby. They were clean and well cleaned. The rooms with balconies are brighter because of the bay window and also seem larger, the balcony is practical. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast, as the Gauls say (for us it's lunch), has improved a lot since my last visits, nice sweet or savory choices, omelets or grilled eggs made to order. The best part is the bar in the pool: those are the positive points. For the rest, this famous bar in the pool could do with a big refresh and cleaning. The blue of the pool water in the promotional photos has disappeared in favor of green, but it's not catastrophic either because I swam in it almost every day, and it feels good at the end of the afternoon when returning from excursions. The pool staff cleaned it every morning. I slept in room 3 on the 1st floor, perfect, nothing to complain about, but my 4 friends complained about the fridge and air conditioning which were too noisy. The phones in some rooms were unusable. For the television, a few French channels and music channels would have been welcome. 2 water cuts, one of which was all night, reminded me that I was indeed on vacation in Africa... I noticed that several rooms were being renovated, so be sure to check. I paid 400,000 ariary (80.- chf) for the room through the hotel, otherwise my friends paid 330,000 through an online booking site. So I think we should not forget that this is not the European standard, nor is the price, and that by having an open and positive mind (in reference to the negative comments I read...) you will have a pleasant stay. Otherwise I had a wonderful holiday. My friends and I thank again the entire staff for their kindness and efficiency. See you soon.

Ayant déjà résidé dans l'hôtel il y a quelques années de cela, nous avons constaté que la qualité et les installations ne sont plus comme avant. L'eau chaude n'est pas régulière, la pression de l'eau est très basse. La wifi ne fonctionne pas tout le temps. Par contre, les personnels sont agréables et au petit soin. Beaucoup d'effort à faire pour mériter les 4 étoiles.
