Set in the SW of St Lucia away from the more popular resorts in the north and closer to the main attractions of the island: volcanic sulphur springs, the Pitons and good hiking trails, botanical gardens and waterfall, cocoa plantations & Hotel Chocolat tours. A rental car or taxi is needed to access these activities – and driving on the island is not for the fainthearted as winding roads are potholed, falling away, and cross streams! Especially exciting in the dark. Tet Rouge is the epitome of calm and relaxation with only 6 suites (including indoor and outdoor showers – note, water pressure is low) an infinity pool, amazing views, a small bar and restaurant and THE best, most professional, hospitable and accommodating team of staff. It feels like a family business and every guest is made to feel part of that family in an unintrusive way. The team headed by Garvin, could not have done more for us: suggesting and booking restaurants, activities, taxis (when we really didn’t want to drive in the dark!), and sharing their experiences and love of the island. Tet Rouge has its own restaurant where we ate on 3 occasions and would also recommend the Mango Tree restaurant (in a gated resort) near Sugar Beach for its amazing views and sunsets, and the Treetops Indian fusion restaurant the other side of Soufriere (part of Crystals hotel resort) for their tasting menu in a quirky setting.
