Location: The island is small and tranquil, offering a peaceful retreat with a beautiful beachfront location. It's situated in South Ari Atoll, known for its stunning natural beauty and easy access to the house reef, ideal for snorkeling.

This Island is the smallest I've visited in the Maldives been many times to other islands but I must say it was absolutely beautiful, my son came with me and I was worried he'd be bored as never been to the Maldives before how wrong I was he loved every second of it ,he didn't want to leave so much in fact he is already looking at going back next year . The food was lovely and plentiful, staff were so friendly and helpful always smiling , a very big shout out to the lovely lads that worked in the bar so friendly and chatty. Thanks everyone on Angaga we had an amazing time .If you are thinking of going to the Maldives for a holiday don't hesitate go here .x

This was our 18 time to the Maldives and did not disappoint!! We loved the budgies, and the gardens beautifully maintained by a really lovely man who bid us a good morning every day. Staff were wonderful super polite and attentive. Our waiter in the restaurant Ihshad was really lovely and provided me with a whole pot of coffee every morning!! Our room boy also exceptional although I don’t know his name, we had beautiful bed decorations for our anniversary and my birthday. Spa was amazing and reasonably priced. Unfortunately we missed the whale sharks on our trip so we are going to have to come back to see them. The island organised trips were reasonable however the dive school trips were not . $250 for the whale shark trip was excessive and of course you are not sure to see them!! Overall a beautiful island snorkling adequate but lots of coral bleaching again this is not the islands fault. We returned fully relaxed and chilled which is what we needed. Be back to see the sharks!!! Thank you all for making our holiday so special x

We stayed at Angaga for 2 weeks in Oct/Nov 2024. This was the 13th island that we have visited. We prefer rustic traditional Maldive islands, not too big, friendly and with a good house reef. Angaga did not disappoint. The island is based in the center of South Ari Atoll with powder white sand and swinging palm trees. So beautiful and photogenic both above and below sea level. The house reef is extremely easily accessible just off the beach. It was pleasing to see some new coral regrowth along with the abundant sea life including large shoals of fish, turtles, large black and white tip reef sharks, nurse sharks, sting ray, moray eels, lionfish and many more. It is a must to take an underwater camera. Our only niggle is that we saw other guests standing on the corals and even kicking sea cucumbers. Other resorts we have visited leave information in the rooms about the correct conduct of snorkeling on the house reef. We chose to stay on the half-board plus option which includes breakfast, evening meal, morning and afternoon snacks and a modest list of cocktails, house spirits, wine and soft drinks. A free snorkel trip is also included in this plan. We found the meals to be very good with plenty of choice. Our fabulous, friendly waiter Moosa looked after us for the duration of our stay and gave us a table overlooking the beach. Every evening, we were greeted by Gurung, one of the many chefs, with a salute and a huge smile. It’s always a pleasure to see staff so happy in their work. Not only the restaurant had a sandy floor but the main bar too where we met two tremendous waiters and cocktail makers, Saman and Nabbe. Their professionalism and friendly banter made drinks at the bar most enjoyable. The sunset bar is a must-visit. Situated at the end of the new Premier Water Villas the sea breeze, beautiful sunsets and again friendly staff really offer a relaxing ambiance. I had a few problems with my drone but one of the chefs very kindly offered to help me. Thank you so much Kanishka for your very helpful advice and use of your battery pack. It was very thoughtful of you. We were bitten quite badly by mosquitos which is a first for us in the Maldives. Hubaib on reception arranged for me to see the doctor and straight away gave me some medication. Thank you Hubaib for organising this for me. We decided to go on the Whaleshark trip by dhoni boat. At a reasonable price of $60 per person we ventured out to sea in search of the largest fish in the ocean. The captain Ahead and his crew found a young fish at a mere 5 to 6 meters long. Swimming with this gentle giant is an awesome experience and we came home with some fabulous photos to remind us of our adventure. A bonus too was to see a Manta Ray. The captain served tea, coffee and coconut on our return to the island. The jetty gets very hot so remember your flip flops for your return. The security guard offered to lend me his! The rooms are well equipped with rustic bamboo furniture and a spacious ind

I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world, including over 10 resorts in the Maldives—but Angaga Resort is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. First, the hygiene was appalling. I found two large cockroaches in the villa and a smaller one on the bed. The toilet was stained yellow, and there was a thick layer of dust under the bed. The filthy conditions made my entire stay physically and mentally distressing. Second, the staff were rude and dismissive. In the restaurant, tables were not seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, staff assigned table numbers arbitrarily, solely for their own convenience—not the guests’. Even worse, they called me by my table number instead of my name—cold, impersonal, and disrespectful. Third—and most disturbing—I was robbed. On the day I checked in, I placed a $20 bill in my jacket pocket, intending to break it into smaller bills for tipping later. I accidentally left the jacket in the restaurant after dinner. The next morning, I retrieved it—only to find the $20 replaced with a $5 bill. This wasn’t a mistake—it was a calculated move by someone experienced in theft. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. I chose Angaga for its snorkeling, but most of the coral is bleached and dead, marine life is limited, and the overwater villa area is constantly disturbed by seaplane noise—hardly the peaceful retreat I hoped for. Angaga is not just the worst resort in the Maldives—it’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, anywhere in the world. Avoid it at all costs.

Absolutely fantastic! I visited Angaga for 18 nights with my husband in January 2025. We were totally blown away by the whole experience. The island is small with 1 restaurant and 2 bars which was perfect for us. The accommodation was A1 very clean and well maintained, we stayed in the premium water bungalow that was amazing, the access down to the sea was good but the bottom steps did get a bit slippery at times. The food was outstanding, we have visited many islands in the Maldives but we felt that the food was by far the best we had ever experienced. The staff were all lovely friendly and helpful and were happy to help in any way that they could to ensure that your holiday was the absolute best. A fantastic quiet relaxing resort for couples, not the place to visit if you want a lively all night party atmosphere. But for us absolutely perfect. We would 💯 % recommend Angaga. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Nick and Marie Hembrow

Relaxed and very friendly island in paradise. We loved our stay in room 106 beach bungalow. The water villas look fabulous but you can’t beat waking up in a morning and walking out of your room onto a fabulous beach. Has an excellent house reef for snorkelling and very friendly well organised Dive Centre. My Mrs loves sun bathing- reading books and interacting daily with the wildlife - budgies, very friendly birds who take a little bread from your hand, also and of course the fish 🐠 if you ever watched finding nemo - that is what it is like. I very much enjoy diving - in my opinion the best place in the world to dive - 28 degrees even 25m down with a chance of seeing whale sharks, mantas, reef sharks, guitar sharks etc…. Also morays, lobster, turtles, and all kinds of wonderful colourful fish. Also the coral gardens are spectacular. We went half board plus which is breakfast, evening meal along with alcoholic drinks and snacks. I would recommend this package. The food is buffet style but you have plenty choice and is very good quality. Thank you Angaga for a magical experience and we will be back. 😎👍
