Room was adequate but the overall cleanliness of the hotel was lacking. Stairwell railings covered with old spiderwebs and ensnared dead bugs so you know that no efforts are being made in general maintenance. The lobby ladies room hadn’t been cleaned in a couple of weeks. See pics. Stay here only if you have to!

Everything at the hotel was good. It was made better by "D" (Deanna) at the front desk. I've traveled around the world and have never met anyone as helpfull, and personable. She's knowledgeable of the area and the restaurants. Hopefully the next time we are in the area we can stay there again

I stayed here last minute and the facility “did the job”. It’s an old hotel but I found it clean and well maintained. Everything in the room worked and the towels and sheets were good. The desk staff were quite helpful as I asked for a lower level room so I could park my bike right outside and not have to carry stuff up/down steps; plus security paranoia. My issue with this hotel is they advertise a hot breakfast and even have up the snazzy Quality Inn advertising such but the only thing hot was the waffle iron. This “breakfast” is really a joke and its a mediocre continental offering like during covid. Compounding things is there is no breakfast nearby that I saw as Andrews has few options. If I had paid $50 I would not say anything but the rate was over $100 so now competing with Holiday Inn Express, which offers an excellent breakfast. Choice Hotels are so hit or miss and I have stayed in some excellent Quality Inn and Comfort Inn’s butz this one is merely adequate.

This is definitely a very basic motel. The walls could use a deep clean as well as the bathroom baseboards and grout. The 'hot' breakfast consisted of coffee with no creamer, bagels, cereal with no milk provided, bananas, muffins and a waffle maker.

Where do I start??? I booked my room 4 months ago and my email confirmation total was $480. A few days before I arrived, I was looking at my account and it had changed to $729. There was NO email or phone call letting me know that the rate had increased. I called corporate the day I saw the increase and they were no help at all. Choice Hotels should honor my confirmation because it was in WRITING and no one contacted me about the rate increase. I couldn’t cancel after July 14th yet they increased my room rate 3 weeks after my cancellation deadline. How can anyone plan a vacation on a budget and have the rate arbitrarily increased by $249–that was the rate of 2 additional nights. There was no possible way to get another room at another hotel at the last minute and I was part of a large group of motorcycle riders and we needed to be at the same hotel to make rides easier. We ALL experienced this rate increase with absolutely NO contact whatsoever from the actual hotel or Choice Hotels. The person who coordinated the stay for our motorcycle group was told upon checkin that he didn’t have a room for the last night even though he had an email confirmation. They finally got it worked out but he was thinking he was going to have to stay in our room because we had 2 beds. Someone in a car with no license plate and a plastic bag over her head was casing the parking lot the first night we arrived and trying to get into our motorcycles. I spoke to other guests while doing laundry and at the pool and found out that the bag lady got into cars and had glove boxes opened. Someone stole gas from my husbands motorcycle twice—his was the only motorcycle in the parking lot without a locking gas cap. Someone went through my motorcycle too, all the buttons were pushed/changed and my mirrors moved. The rooms weren’t great. The seal on the toilet needed to be replaced because the room smelled of urine the entire 6 days we were there—it was really disgusting. Other people in our group had spiders in their rooms. There were homeless druggie people coming from out of the woods into the property, I definitely didn’t feel safe though there were security cameras, that’s how we knew the details about the bag lady. We did like the pool though there weren’t enough chairs and what were there were hard and uncomfortable. We liked that we had access to a bbq and gazebo, that was nice though there were spider webs all over the tables so I didn’t sit and eat because I was grossed out. There was a nice wooden swing there too. I really liked the manager. None of these complaints are geared towards him personally. He’s new and is trying to update this property probably one thing at a time. He was very accommodating and very friendly. The rate increase had nothing to do with the manager, his hands were tied. I feel Corporate is dropping the ball in making this right. I travel A LOT but I will NOT be staying at a Choice Hotel property again because they have been unresp

BEWARE!!!! BED BUGS IN ROOM 114!!! Do not stay here!!! They won’t let me leave reviews on Google or Choice Hotel. I’m an exterminator and they spread very easy and bring back home. It is terrible and thousands to get rid of them. THE LAST THING YOU WANT IS TO BRING BED BUGS BACK HOME!!!!

It appears I may not be the only one bamboozled by this Inn's cancellation policy. Based on the details given on the site regarding the room I selected it showed that I had enough time to cancel before check in. However, when I needed to cancel my reservation 10 days in advance I was told that the hotel has a non-refundable policy. Why would the booking process have something different than what is advertised on the website? My booking of the room was based on what had been advertised on the site at the rate that was advertised. Never again will you trap me like that Quality Inn!

Generally, Quality Inn is hit or miss (with more misses than hits) but this location was definitely a hit. Clean rooms with your basic amenities. Comfortable beds. Good showers with pressure and hot water. Decent breakfast, nothing fancy but definitely adequate. Great central area for a motorcycle vacation. Convenient to Maggie Valley, Deals Gap, multiple scenic parkways. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the vicinity.

Between my wife and myself, we have several years experience in the hospitality industry from the front office perspective and think we're a fair judge of the places where we stay. We stayed at this location for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the room and grounds. At this price point, you're not going to get the Ritz-Carlton but the guest rooms and grounds should be clean and the building in good repair overall. This place checks all the boxes. Would I give them a 100% rating? No, but probably a solid 95% which is pretty good in my book. If you look hard enough, you'll always find something that isn't perfect. In our case, there were two bulbs burned-out over the vanity, the toilet wiggled, there was an empty water bottle under the arm chair, and a bit of dust on the ceiling and on top of the photos/mirrors on the wall. None of this was a big deal to us. There were a few "no-seeums" flies in the sink which we sent down the drain only to see a few more the next day but none after that. The bed was extremely comfortable (not the Jello/marshmallow mattress you seem to find too often) and we slept well. The HVAC and TV functioned flawlessly. The room was well-lit and had sufficient outlets for our electrical items. Wi-Fi was good as well though we travel with a private Hot Spot. There's an outdoor pool and a gazebo with picnic tables and charcoal grills if you would like to barbecue. The $25/night Pet Fee seems to be about the norm though we feel pets should stay free since inconsiderate owners can be charged for any resulting damages. We didn't sample the continental breakfast. In all, it seemed to be a great place to stay and we'd likely go there again if we were in the area. Bear in mind that the GPS in our car could not locate the address though our phones got us there without any complications.
