A fantastic experience. We had an amazing guide called John. Saw lots of wildlife especially big herds which Amboseli is famous for. The service was amazing and the rooms were kept spotlessly clean. A personnal reservation of mine is that this camp feels more like a hotel as opposed to other camps that feel a bit more intimate and authentic. I also would have preferred a simplified lunch menu also, it was a bit fussy for the daytime. Bush breakfast is a must.

Great experience! The food was great and we had a wonderful dedicated waitress called Eunice that took care of us the whole time we were there. She and the chef were very attentive to my food sensitivities. The tents were clean and we had hot water. The massage person was great also. We felt very taken care of. Elewana Tortilis in Kenya and Elewana Pioneer in Tanzania were our favorite!

We had an amazing 3-night stay at Tortilis Camp in Amboseli! After 9 nights in the Masai Mara, Amboseli was an incredible next stop for us in Kenya. The terrain and experience are very different than the Mara. Shorter grass, more water features to see the rich birdlife, and stunning large herds of elephants traveling in groups of 15-20. The food was outstanding at Tortillis, and our waiter William was fantastic. John was our guide during the stay, and he took us on many adventures and had a real eye for photography. We got amazing pictures and interactions with the elephants. Our last night, we did our sundowner at the "bush bar" on top of a hillside. I had tears, it was so magical to watch the sunset over the savannah and a view of Kilimanjaro on the other side. Incredible place with incredible people. The camp is very well run by Graeme and Candy. We hope to make it back someday!

We loved our time at Tortilis! We spent five nights here, and felt that the staff provided such care and warm-hearted attention to us throughout the stay. The lodge provides a dedicated room steward and waiter for the duration of your stay, and we were extremely thankful to be looked after by head waiter William and room steward Kiyomgo - who also provided to-the-second wake up calls with freshly brewed coffee direct to the tented room. William made every meal a delight, and was a joy to connect with. The food was very good - a challenge when so far nestled in the bush, and there are an array of daily an la carte options for lunch and dinner. Rooms are well appointed and eco friendly - and the bathroom has a special feature of a filtered water tap, saving on plastic bottles. Laundry service was also fantastic. The property has gorgeous common areas - the covered restaurant and bar both overlook the active waterhole, and provide a stunning view of Mt Kilimanjaro when she is visible from cloud cover. Graeme and Candy are delightful general managers, both hailing from Scotland, and have so many entertaining stories of their time in Africa - their book “Don’t Shake the Mango Tree” is definitely worth a read. They lead by example with their beautiful staff (over 60% of whom come from local villages) to ensure that hospitality is provided from the heart, and guests want for nothing. Amboseli is a glorious national park to explore, and is Kenya’s “home of the elephants”, who are thriving here. Tortilis is highly recommended. Thank you and Asante Sana!

From the moment you are greeted by Candi and Graham, till the moment you leave, this resort is a joy. Prepare to be pampered, well fed, and shown the most amazing sites by your guide. Our guide Dickson did his best to find everything on our list, as well as things we didn’t even know we wanted to see. The staff was attentive and friendly to a fault and the immersion in the local Culture was exceptional. The next time we are in Kenya, we will definitely revisit this wonderful property

Everything from start to finish was superb. Our guides Joseph and Ali were amazing. The staff are kind, responsive, and so joyful. Service was impeccable. Our hosts were a delight and you cannot beat the view from the restaurant and lounge.

Located in a Conservancy within Amboselli National Park this camp offers shared game drives, walks, sundowners both in the Conservancy as in the NP. The camp central accommodation is at the top of a hill, whilst the thatched cabins are all down the hill (a ride to the top is available however). The cabin is a long rectangle with the bathroom at the end. It is a rather large camp and you will be sharing the safari car with 4 others; the viewings all concentrate on elephants, the huge tuskers for which Amboselli is famous. Mount Kilimanjaro offers a nice backdrop on the pictures, when not in the clouds. As we stayed 3 nights, we had each day different company in our car, except for the last morning, when it was only the 2 of us. The sundowner is a surprise and very nice, as well as one breakfast. The staff, the service as well as the meals are in line with the 4* classification of this camp. Breakfast and lunch are buffets, diner is plateservice. The food is fine.
