Wanslea Guest House

Our 3 days stay in the B&B is wonderful. We enjoy very much for the breakfast every day and with excellent service from Steve and Tina. When my wife steps into the room, she immediately said it has the most beautiful bathroom she ever seen.

We've been staying at The Wanslea for a decade or more now, probably more heading towards 15 years. As always it ticks all the boxes for us and is well deserving of a 5 star review Fantastic hosts, Steve and Tina and as always we were made to feel completely at home. Excellent breakfasts cooked by Tina to keep you going well into the day. On this occasion we stayed in the former Rock and Roll room which has all been re-done and is lovely and quiet with a side aspect to the main road. On other occasions we have stayed in the Arabian Nights room [top floor] and Africa Room [first floor front facing]. All rooms are well maintained from what we have experienced so well done to Steve and Tina on that score as it is quite a sizable establishment. I love the area the food option the bed is very comfortable access to the transport as well. Everything is around unique and perfect for me. I have a lovely stay with my daughter and I’m gonna recommend it for everybody.

Great friendly staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Advised us on a great walk. Breakfast was excellent and sets you up for the day. Highly recommended

Just had a weekend here for some solo fell walking (wife in Thailand). From the minute I arrived was met by Steve who was very welcoming and friendly. My room was a single at the front of the guesthouse, well appointed and an excellent walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable, and definitely needed after a day in the high fells. Tina cooks a mean breakfast and it comes very quickly. It is a great base for lots of walking and if needed the bus stops are very near. Would highly recommend Wanslea as a great place to stay in Ambleside.

Great location Lovely clean rooms with really comfy beds We had the Arabian room beautiful furniture and very spacious Gorgeous full breakfast Steve and Tina are super friendly and full of local information and recommendations.. small car park available and Steve and Tina kindly let us leave the cars on our checkout day so we could walk in to Ambleside.. Our 3rd visit to this lovely guest house and can’t wait to return.. Thank you x
