Holiday Inn Express & Suites Albert Lea - I-35

Disappointed and disgusting The staff was nice. The rooms were in poor condition. Beat up, hair everywhere (hanging from the side of the tub, all over the floors, and all over the walls), carpets were stained and dirty, and dead bugs everywhere. The drywall in the room was coming down from the ceiling, the carpet was torn and heavily stained. It appeared as if the maid changed the sheets and left the room. You could see greasy finger prints all over the room, dead bugs in the lights, and the walls were heavily beat up. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel’s location offers Interstate access in any direction. The carpeting in the room and hotel was not clean. The room was damp and did not have ventilation.

Dated hotel in need of remodel. Cracked plaster and mismatched paint/repair jobs on walls. Only 1 chair for table in suite. (We ended up eating our to go dinner in the lobby.) Headboard pleather was wearing off and looked dirty. Missing knobs on furniture and scuffed furniture. Dirty bench where suitcases are put with visible dirt in the crevices. Small black hair in sink. Clock wasn’t plugged in or set. Phone in room was old and looked like something had been spilled on it. Room number on phone didn’t match our room. Shampoo and hand soap were empty (housekeeping had not refilled). I went to the front desk while my husband was in the shower to get more shampoo and waited around 10 minutes to find front desk clerk. She wasn’t answering the phone. She apologized when she returned. When I returned to the room, I discovered the hand soap was also empty. I went back down to the front desk. Clerk again apologized and gave me an extra bottle for the room. These are medium sized bottles and shouldn’t have gotten to the point of being empty. Hot tub was out of order, which was one of the reasons we picked this hotel. Pool area was dark and looked like the floor needed pressure washing. On the good side, beds were comfortable and breakfast was good was good options that were tasty. I have been a Platinum/Diamond member for years. We stay at IHG properties regularly because of consistently. This property needs to be reevaluated by IHG as it is not up to standard.

Melissa at Front Desk was wonderful to us, excellent service! She also gave us good local restaurant recommendations. We did have a minor housekeeping issue upon checking the room, but Melissa took care of it immediately and went above and beyond.

It was OK however we had stains on our pillow cases, the floors in 2 corners had chips on floor from the previous stayers. Under the sink area there were 2 used pool area towels. Our toilet was plugged before we got there and we were told to come to desk to get a plunger from front desk. So i guess housekeeping was more of the issue everything else was ok

Noisy Nice hotel , but had noisy person walking in the room above us, breakfast was great
