The hotel itself is lovely. The room was cute and clean. Not as much grounds around the hotel as I expected. The pool, the main reason I booked the hotel was closed. It did not say on the website the pool would be closed when I booked my stay. The hotel and restaurant seem to have a disconnect. It seems that the restaurant is more important than the hotel. Having to book reservations for meals at the restaurant a month prior to arrival was annoying as when exploring a new place you want to have some flexibility in when you want to eat. I booked a lunch for the Sunday I was there and the day I arrived I received an email that the menu had changed and the only option for lunch was a four course sharing type meal for 49 euro. I cannot eat a four course meal for lunch. I asked if there was any way they could accommodate 1 person and just one dish. No, not possible. I did not have a car so asked if there were any restaurants within walking distance open. They gave me directions to a small village about a 20 min walk away. Walk to town thru a field get somewhat lost but whatever find it eventually. NOTHING is open in this village because it is Sunday. They could have let me in on this small point! After waking around for an hour trying to find anything open I headed back. During my walk back an elderly man asked if I needed help and then ended up trying to kiss and grope me. After getting away from him I continued on my way but after many more hours than planned away from the hotel I needed to use a washroom and had to go in the field. When I got back to the hotel all I wanted to do was go for a swim and relax by the pool. Sorry it’s closed. Argh!! I was fairly rude to the staff that told me this which I feel badly about but after having nothing to eat, being accosted by a creepy old French guy and having to use a field as a washroom I was at my wits end. Moral of the story don’t stay at this place unless you have a car to drive to other places if you don’t want to eat at the hotel.

The property was beautiful. Away from the business of Aix, but close and accessible to many things to do in the region.
The staff were very nice and helpful.

Charming but not for families
Hotel is very charming and with a very good restaurant, however we were traveling with little kids and hotel was uncomfortable for families, no elevator, family room 2nd bed was very uncomfortable and a bunker where you could not stand up straight without bumping your head and very dangerous stairs for kids.

Look, the place is gorgeous. The restaurant is wonderful. But the staff? Mostly terrible. There was one very nice woman working at the front desk but everyone else treated us like we were a nuisance, or worse. We were told by a very harsh woman that eating in our room was "forbidden" despite the fact that there are NO restaurants within a 10 minute drive (besides the hotel's, which costs at least 70 euros for two people). Eventually, we convinced them to give us plates and silverware but the back-and-forth was ridiculous. Then my partner injured himself at the gym, skinning his leg. We asked if we could have a bandage. (Not medicine, JUST a bandage.) The woman at the front desk told us "sorry, we don't have those for guests, just employees." Again, what?? I thought, as a hotel, you have to at least have things in case of emergencies with guests, no? Guess not here. The vineyards nearby are beautiful, it's very rustic, blah blah...but what will stick with me is just how horribly we were treated. Never again.

Quaint country-feel hotel, short drive to Aix.
Great location outside Aix-en-Provence, with a nice country feel and a quiet environment.

Myself, the wife and two of our close friends booked at this hotel for 1 night, prior to a flight home. The hotel itself is more aligned to providing private functions, and conferences. This is evidenced by a bare faced lack of hospitality experience by staff. As a paying hotel resident, I think one should expect to be served by any member of staff employed at the hotel at any time for what are reasonable requests.... So... I have to ask, is asking a member of staff to assist with the purchase of a bottle of wine, reasonable? Apparently not, instead I was thrown a 2"×2" square Q code disk and told to go on line and order.... I am aware that if I am sat in the beer garden of a local pub, and wish to order a limp cheese burger his may be acceptable. But, should I wish to purchase a 50-100€ bottle of wine, I belive it is reasonable, and acceptable to be helped by a member of staff to make that purchase. Instead I questioned this blasé attitude by this young woman as she turned her back, shaking her head and exited stage left. I Apparently could not order a bottle of wine face to face with staff, I could not be offered a wine list, and the bar was not available as a private function was ongoing. 🤨. Her lack of professionalism resulted in my friend and I's approach to he reception area, to speak with an 'adult' only to be told by the half wit on the receptionist desk that one human can not order by speech, language or telepathy, any drinks without wading through a full wine list on a mobile phone.... staggering. Staggering, considting that he rooms are no more than very standard, my bathroom floor had an uneaven floor with broken tiles and my showers silicone sealant around the bottom of the tray was so yellow, it appeared to have been used as a urinal.... Hairs jammed in the shaver socket in the bathroom iced the cake... well done guys.. This room was booked whilst I ignored the negative feedback believing that there will always be poor experiences and troublesome customers. However they are justified. A 5 day break to a beautiful part of the world, spoilt unnecessarily. The "it's just the way it is" attitude from staff, no doubt fed by management will cost recommendedations and income. Your loss. There is a need guys, to get a grip, serve your customers and stop being lazy.
