"I’ve stayed at 22 Fairmonts around the world, and Fairmont Mara Safari Club is hands down my favourite. This property is something truly special. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel cared for, welcomed, and genuinely spoiled. They have a way of making special happen. A heartfelt shout out to our guide, Lekoko, whose knowledge and passion made every game drive unforgettable, and to Moses, our wonderful server who took such great care of us throughout our stay. The facilities and grounds are beautiful with so many unique touches. The game drives were beyond incredible. We saw so much wildlife in such stunning settings. Moments we’ll replay in our minds for the rest of our lives. The Maasai Mara is truly magical. We also loved the spa, the peaceful hippo corner, and the view of the river right from the property. It’s such a serene and relaxing place to unwind between adventures. The food was excellent, and housekeeping was consistently on point. Everything exceeded our expectations. I’ll be telling everyone about this place, and I already find myself dreaming of returning. Absolutely the best hotel experience I’ve ever had."

"This property is not one of the more expensive properties in the area. Location is one strike against Kandili. It is located outside of the Maasai Mara. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the entry. The staff was extremely helpful. The camp was very well kept. The tents looked like new. They were spacious. We stayed in the "superior tent". Privacy was reasonable. Meals are pretty much fixed menus. The food was great and expertly prepared. We chose to do a night game drive. The vehicles were not in the best condition. In my opinion this was a poor value for the money."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! This was our first time in Kenya and on safari and it was very difficult to find a camp that felt luxurious and was not commercial (felt like a hotel) we wanted something that felt special and Kenyan. We found it. The staff are so special. Every interaction showed that the people care about the guests, their smiles, stories and care for us will remain in our hearts forever. We really enjoyed the game drives with Daniel and Julius, our meals with Alfred and big thank you to the chef, the impeccable quality of the rooms and the special touches like the laundry, wake up call and warmed beds from Daniel, the expert cocktails from Solomon, the hot towels upon arrival and the great booking service from Linda, Judy and Sharon, the Maasai run with Alex, Richard, Cheryl, Stella and Julius, the lion hunting with John, the telescope watching, board games, the river walk with the Maasai warrior and the hippos waking us in the morning. We feel so sad to leave and already miss you all. Thank you for making this trip so memorable for us forever. We hope to return one day. All the best and thank you. Keep doing what you are doing, you are all very special."

"We stayed at Ilora Retreats for the Masai Mara leg of our trip, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is exceptional, you are right in the heart of the action, which means less time commuting and more time out in the golden hour light. The accommodation itself was excellent. It strikes that perfect balance between an authentic bush camp feel and pure luxury, with plenty of room to relax, charge up, and at the same time have enough of room on the property for the kids not to feel cramped. The overall ambience was incredibly peaceful, especially in the evenings. The food was another major highlight, fabulous quality and variety that honestly exceeded our expectations for being out in the bush. A phenomenal spot to unwind after a long day on the plains. "The Karen Blixen camp takes hospitality to the highest level! It has a achieved something remarkable; as a guest every interaction with staff makes you feel they are genuinely doing their best for you in a friendly efficient manner. Job went out of his way to make us feel at home and help when our son felt under the weather. The game drives gave our family moments we will cherish forever - Laperes knowledge of the animals matched only by his driving skills! And this is not to mention the setting.. the river Mara is the perfect back drop as it promotes the feeling of relaxing and appreciating nature as the hippos lounge around and giraffes and elephants come for a drink. "Where to even begin! Without a doubt, the best experience of our lives! From the moment we landed on the airstrip in Masai Mara, the entire experience was nothing short of magical. We were welcomed with champagne by Newton & Regina, who were our guides for our trip. Even on the short drive to the hotel, we saw so many animals, it was amazing. We arrived at the hotel to a welcome song by all the team, who also happen to all be amazing singers. Mariana and Caroline run the most beautiful home from home, and they were nothing short of fabulous. It should be a 7 star hotel, as the service we received was nothing short of exceptional. David, our server, is without doubt the best in the business. Every little detail, and nothing was ever too much. I don’t think we had an empty glass our entire stay…. A masterclass in hospitality! The food…. there are no words. Every day the menu changes, and every meal, every course, was stunning beyond belief, and the bread, freshly baked each day, and different for every meal, was a fabulous touch. The tent (if you can call it that) but exactly what you would dream of for a luxury safari, and Sarah our housekeeper made sure every little detail was pitch perfect… including the hot water bottles, which were a welcome surprise. The view is out of this world. Everyday we saw elephants, hippos and giraffes right in front of us! I took my Mum for her 60th birthday and they did more than you could imagine to make it so special for her, it really was magical! And then there’s the game drives! Newton is a master of the Mara, we saw every animal you could think of, and we saw hunting, birthing, fighting, you name it! And each day he would have a picnic, or champagne, or something else to just make the experience even better. He was able to anticipate the animals movements to ensure we always were in the best viewing spots, absolutely mesmerising! Just being in the camp, learning Kenyan with Caroline, learning about the local people with Marianne, or having a massage with Joanne & Vera, it feels like you’re at home! To Marianne, Caroline, David, Newton, Regina, Joy, Dennis, Sarah, Wilson, Vera, Joanne and all of the Mahali Mzuri family, thank you so much for a life changing experience!
