Beautiful and very quiet location approximately one and a half kilometers from the center. Anyone who aspires to a modern luxury hotel is not in the right place here, but we prefer the authenticity and charm of the castle dating from 1830, family and a pleasant host Cedric who speaks 4 languages, Dutch, English, German and of course French. In my opinion, a very good price/quality ratio, especially since breakfast is included and offered free of charge by the operator. Breakfast is basic but tasty and more than sufficient in my opinion. For those who want a super extensive breakfast for an additional 15 - 20 euros per person???
We only stayed 1 night - very good bed - we will definitely come back here to find the source of the Leie by bike.

De aankomst viel al onmiddellijk mee. We waren nog maar net uit de auto gestapt en de voordeur ging al open om ons te verwelkomen. Vriendelijke, behulpzame gastheer. Hij had regelmatig tijd om een babbeltje te slaan. We voelden er ons thuis. De kamer en de badkamer was heel ruim en alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig. Het diner en het ontbijt was heel lekker en voldoende. Het verblijf is rustig gelegen aan de rand van het stadje en heeft een heel grote, mooie tuin.

Ontvangst was helemaal niet vriendelijk. Bij onthaal werd koudweg verteld dat alles sloot om 23h, dus dat we eigenlijk vanaf dat uur opgesloten worden in de kamers. Wij verzochten vriendelijk om toch nog even buiten te kunnen zitten en van het goede weer te genieten, maar dit werd nogal aggressief afgewezen, zonder enige reden. Daarvoor boeken we niet met een paar vrienden een weekendje, om dan vanaf 23 uur op je kamer opgsloten te worden. Eigenaar was heel aggressief en om niet te laten escaleren zijn we maar vertrokken en een hotel in de buurt geboekt. Slechtste ervaring ooit !

Lovely
Lovely young couple run the chateau and they do everything they can to make the stay perfect. We had dinner which was a fixed menu but really good quality. They gave us a choice of pastries for breakfast. Just a short journey from Calais.

A great place to stay
Stayed for two nights during a business trip to a local client, great place as a change to usual hotels I use and I will certainly stay here again. The owners, who also staff the Chateau, were very friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and the room I stayed in had so much space with a great view of the garden.
