Giannoulis - Santa Marina Plaza (Adults Only)

My wife and I spent our long awaited Honeymoon here at the Santa Marina Plaza, arriving at the end of July 2025.. We booked a 10 night stay in a Sea Front room on a half-board basis . Our flight had been delayed slightly, and by the time we were transferred from the airport to the hotel it was around 20:30 local time. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and offered complimentary refreshments after a long, warm day of travelling. Instantly we noticed the genuine hospitality from the team here, led by Alexandros. Once we had cooled off and refreshed, we were taken to our room and... oh my goodness. What a view! There was also a bottle of sparkling wine accompanied by a fresh heart-shaped cake in our room for our honeymoon. Before I go on, the first thing I should say is how relaxed, chilled and peaceful the whole place is. This is true at any time of the day, even when the poolside and bar areas are busy. You will read many comments about how great the staff are; and I simply cannot reiterate this any more. Alexandros, Kevin, Nikki, Viktoria, Haris, the whole team, from dawn until dusk are just the most hard-working, friendly and lovely team. You can see they genuinely enjoy being there and this is evident in the way they make their guests feel and accomodate them. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The entire hotel is kept spotless. I have never seen such a spotlessly kept hotel in all my travelling years. The cleaning staff are meticulous but always friendly and smiling. Alexandros doesn't miss a thing. He keeps everything in order at all times, and is supported by his incredible team. Our Room ************* Simply wonderful. A very good size comprising of the main sleeping area, extremely comfortable bed(s), a great size bathroom (bath, shower & toilet) with a separate sink/wash up area just outside the bathroom which is a great idea! A note for those who maybe wondering, there is a built in hairdryer, and even more helpfully, this has a built in shaver/toothbrush socket so no need to bring a separate adapter. The aircon is great and doesn't cut off when you leave the room. The balcony area is a really great size, has plenty of room for the two comfortable chairs and table. There is also a very helpful pull-out dryer for hanging swimming attire as well as the balcony guard itself. The views overlooking the lush green lawn, the beach and sea where just amazing. They provided plenty of shower gel, hand wash, conditioner (for my wife) which were good quality products and smelled lovely. The shower was very nice and always had hot water ready when needed. There is a small but decent size fridge in the room which we used to store water or perishables we purchased from the local supermarket. There is also a TV, but we had no need to use this at all. There is a safe in the room, and its usage is €3per day. Plenty of storage, hangers, drawers etc for all your luggage also. Listening to the sea every morning and evening and being able to wake

First time in Crete and it will not be our last, the hotel was well maintained, spotless. The room (pool view) was large and airy, with very good house keeping. All the staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Great facilities, with a good selection for breakfast, lovely clean pool and a stone throw away from a lovely sandy beach with sunbeds always available. Small town location with lots of supermarkets and restaurants (out of season) and only 20 minutes bus ride into Chania for €2. We mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Alexandra (hotel manager) organised a bottle of wine and cake to celebrate the occasion…. Really thoughtful.

What can I say? The service is incredibly nice and they work so hard every day. The rooms get cleaned every day too and it was overall an extremely good experience. I can only recommend this hotel if you want to have a good time in Crete :)

The hotel is a far cry from its 4 star rating. The room was possibly the smallest and dated room we have ever stayed in across the world, and this was supposed to be the most expensive sea view room. The bathroom and toilet one had to squeeze in to enter. However the room was clean. Teas and coffee in the room was limited to one sachet and 2 paper cups hardly a 4 star standard. Meals were not the greatest, but no matter as there was always something but no wow factor. On the other hand, the staff, at the restaurant, bar or reception were just outstanding, friendly and helpful.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help at a moments notice. The hotel itself was perfect - perfect location on the beach, the pool area, pool bar and main restaurant were lovely. The food was great - lots of choice each evening, with two themed nights each week. A short bus ride into Chania itself is a must - stunning port area, with charming cafes, restaurants and shops. We were so impressed with everything we will be returning next year Debbie & Kev (stayed 19 Sept - 28 Sept - room 209)

We are returning guests because this is a very nice hotel and give exellent service all over.The location is very good, in Agia Marina, with direct access to the beach from the hotelgarden. We will return next year.
