Excellent hotel. Very friendly helpful staff. The beds could do with memory foam mattresses as the springy type isn't to our taste. We ate breakfast and evening meal. Breakfast was excellent with something for everyone. Dinner was superb, and I certainly recommend their fish and chips in the restaurant. There is also a cafe which is open 24hrs. Certainly would book again and recommend.

Great experience to stop in for the night. Breakfast hot and cold options. Quick dinner and breakfast service. Gemma at front desk was so helpful and welcoming. Really lovely overall experience. 24hours cafe area was a brilliant addition. Despite being on main A-road the rooms were quiet and clean. Bathroom clean and water great. Dogs welcome. Easy access to rooms. Car park big and plenty of room. Would happily come back! Dinner was AMAZING. Good for the price and the Chef is so talented, food looked beautiful and was super tasty!

Location is ideal, rooms are clean and equipped and good value for price we paid. Nice views from the rooms and no noise with being right on a1. Bar and restaurant in hotel and 24hr café. Ideal for when got back late. Staff were all amazing and accommodating. We were at a wedding local, we would have had to check-in late at night. They let us get changed in the room they would be allocating to us and let us leave our bags in. As we arrived early morning, expecting to just park car up and get changed in toilets. Then they made room up after. Above and beyond. Made our trip.

I was initially concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel seeing visible carpet stains/marks etc. Unfortunately 3 of our party woke up in the morning covered in bed bug bites on our face & body. I immediately told the hotel and provided evidence however they have refused to issue a refund.

An excellent budget hotel situated right on the A1 just a few minutes drive from Bamburgh and the coast. But don’t let the A1 location put you off - all the rooms are on the other side of the hotel overlooking open countryside, so no noise from the road. The bedroom was simply, but well-furnished with all you need, and the bathroom had wonderful fluffy towels and oodles of hot water - and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent - cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc are on a buffet basis but the hot course is cooked to order and was very tasty. Evening meals are available and are typical pub classics. There is loads of free parking and the staff are very friendly. The price is incredible value for that area. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

This was my second visit here and it lived up to my expectations. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Don't be put off by the fact that it is on the A1. So far north the A1 is relatively quiet, there is a sizable car park in front of the hotel and all the rooms are at the back facing the fields, so you hear nothing from the road when you are in your room. The breakfasts were good and the restaurant is also very good for an evening meal. There is also a bar to have a drink in the evening and the staff are very helpful. The shop at the on-site service station might also be useful for picking up a few essentials as well as filling up with petrol of course. The location is good as it is just a few miles from Bamburgh and the castle, which is a great place to visit and also Seahouses.
