We enjoyed our stay here, and the company of the baby seagull out front. Rooms were a little small if you are traveling with large luggage.

It was my first time in Wales and I booked this hotel. The service was very good and I could see the sea. It was a very good choice. If you come to this town, it is very beautiful.

Checked in at 2.30pm and checked back out at 9pm… my recommendation is you try somewhere else if you want a decent shower and a peaceful night sleep. Check in started good, we arrived a little early and had been told our room was ready. Room seemed small but manageable. Left to explore and came back for a shower but bathroom wasn’t brilliant. The shower door has a gap so water went onto the floor and shower barely fitted a person. Toilet made a noise from a lack of pressure when flushed. Went out for food and returned to get some sleep but before we attempted we endured two solid hours of some sort of knocking sound that sounded like a hammer on a wall, noise from a couple of guests arguing above the room, more toilets flushing and having a pressure issue and guests on the stairs with creaking boards. Overall decided to not stay overnight as we wouldn’t sleep so decided to drive another two hours home instead to our own creature comforts. For the price I paid for an en-suite, it was not worth it at all and cost me more money in petrol for the journey home that has now been a four hour trip.

I stayed here on Monday 30th June 2025. I was already aware that it was self-catering (so no breakfast), but I had a room with a sea view and I'd had to book at short notice so I decided to try to make the best of it. The room I was given was miniscule - it would have been virtually impossible to put two people there. In addition, I noticed a long rip in the carpet under the table, one of the curtains had come loose from the rail, and the bathroom door wouldn't shut because the hinges were not affixed properly. This falls considerably short of the standards I expect, and I will be looking elsewhere next time I visit Aberystwyth.

visited in June 2025. This was the worst hotel/guest house I have every stayed in! There were issues with the room: -Bath room had mould - disgusting. -The carpet was very worn and had holes in it -The door had a 1 inch gap underneath one end of it where the floor slopes away. -Cracked ceiling tiles -Plaster and wallpaper has come off the walls and they haven't been repaired. -There was a slat missing in my bed when I lifted the mattress to find out why I kept sinking through it. -There are marks and stains on the wall which could easily be cleaned off though the hotel management don't seem to be bothered. -The windows are plastered with bird dung - no effort to clean them either. I informed and showed a member of staff the photos at reception and the response was that they were aware of these issues and were working to improve them. I was offered a free night here for raising these concerns but I turned it down because I wouldn't spend another night there even if they paid me! Also, I refused to eat there because they show such little concern for cleanliness and general upkeep that these attitudes probably spill over into the kitchen - I mean you can see the shoddy state of the rooms but you can't see the state of the kitchen and I don't want to take the risk of eating from there. I feel ripped off because these rooms cost around £60 a night and its clear they aren't cleaned regularly. I'm annoyed because if I had known these things before going then I wouldn't have wasted my money. My friend who travelled with us on the trip opted to stay at a different hotel down the road (which was about half the price) and was much cleaner, well kept and the difference was night and day!

Text: Booked 3 nights for £195 in a twin room. Room was awful. No curtains, just a broken blind barely shielding the grim virw and disgustingly filthy window. Stained walls by the beds because there were no headboards. Stains all down the side of one of the beds and walls. We asked if something could be done on check in but the man disappeared and no-one else was on reception. The next morning we spoke to reception again but there were no other twin rooms so they wanted to charge us extra to move us into 2 rooms one of which was not en-suite. I declined and requested a refund for our remaining 2 nights and was told we would not get one because we basically should have known how bad it was based on existing reviews and website pictures. They clearly know this is not good and are only interested in taking your money. We left and enjoyed the remaining 2 nights elsewhere but the loss of money stung. Don't make the same mistake as us, book somewhere else.
