Scandic Aarhus Vest

After multiple other Scandic hotels, this was a let down. Some rooms may be renovated but this clearly wasn't. Biggest issue was that the curtains did not close completely, causing the room to be very bright. Especially because the lights on the terrace stayed on all night, not very sustainable and definitely annoying. A plus was the free parking lot. Breakfast was average, though the waffles are a nice touch.

Cosy hotel with a very nice staff and a VERY good breakfast-buffet. Choose this hotel instead of one in the city and save some money. Free parking as well.

Housekipping not work . All week room was not cleaned . If you want to hang a sign on your doorknob, you have two options: Do Not Disturb and Do Not Disturb. I've NEVER encountered this before. Only breakfast was good.

The experience does not match what is being advertised. The rooms were very old and dirty. I am a member of Scandic friends and I normally love staying with Scandic, but unfortunately this is the first time I was very disappointed. We were planned to stay for 4 nights and 5 days. But unfortunately we had to check out a day earlier because my husband and I started to get bed bug bites from the bed. We already started itching nonstop at the very first night, but at first we thought it was because of the summer heat. We then borrowed an electric fan, but that did not fix the itching problem. We noticed that the itching was every time we were laying down the bed at night. We didn’t get much sleep due to this. We even went to the city to buy insect repellent and everything we could find to relieve the itching. Other than that, we also found dirt and cut off nails on the bed and on the floor, when we arrived. Thus, we booked time for cleaning but it was still very dirty, and the cut off nails were still on the floor after the cleaning. It was then we realized that they do not really clean properly. On the morning we confirmed that there were bed bugs due to the bed bug bites on our back, legs and arms, we complained to the reception about it and the dirtiness on the room even after the cleaning lady came, but nothing happened. So later that day, we chose to check out because we couldn’t take one more night there. They only said that they were sorry and that they couldn’t refund anything or do anything at all, although it was very unhygienic and the hotel’s fault. The only thing they offered us were two bottles of soda for our 2 hour ride home and that’s it. We had to drive all the way home and cancel our plans at Aarhus the next day… :(

Small kids? Choose this one Super kind, flexible, helpful and professional staff. Great facilities for a family of two small kids. We will definitely come again.

Outdated and poorly maintained hotel There was a bad smell from the toilet and dusty on the shelf at the entrance to the room (came from the sealing). Some of the tiles on the wall in the bathroom was missing bits and pieces. Some of the staff at the breakfast who was cleaning looked angry and bothered by all the guests- like we were in the way for them when they we’re cleaning tables. All in all an outdated and poorly maintained hotell.
