FFluffyTotoroI arrived in Taupo on the morning Air NZ flight from AKL, upon arrival at the Chevron Motel, 4 hours before the published check-in time, I had planned to ask to have my luggage stored while I go about other business. The receptionist kindly asked me to wait while she checked to see if my room was ready, and if so, I could have my room right away. Lucky for me it was, I was very pleased with the initiative and flexibility offered. My booking included a living area with dining table, kitchen, sofa, spare single bed, a separate bedroom, and a dedicated parking space. My stay of 5 nights was very comfortable, and I will definitely use this motel again on my next visit. I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvements, first - a split type AC unit was present in the living room, it would be great if there could be a second unit installed in the bedroom. Internet connectivity, available 24/7, while adequate, did have limited bandwidth affecting video streaming from Netflix/YouTube etc. Lastly, it would be great if the TV provided in the living room had a larger screen. In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at the Chevron Motel, the room offered great value for money, and I was completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay.

GGuest UserI had a great stay at this hostel, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The common areas were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere for meeting other travelers. I ended up making some new friends here, and we realized we were planning to visit many of the same places, so we explored together. That really made my trip even more memorable.
The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, and I was impressed with the overall experience.
The only issue I encountered was with late check-in. My bus arrived much later than expected, so I wasn't able to arrange an after-hours check-in in advance. I understand that the instructions were provided by email, but I did have a moment of panic because I was asked to call the hostel's phone number. Since I was traveling with only an eSIM and didn't have a New Zealand phone number, I wasn't able to make the call. It would be great if there were an alternative way to contact the hostel for late check-ins, such as WhatsApp, email, or an online messaging system.
Overall, this hostel went beyond my expectations, and I'd definitely recommend it to other travelers.

GGuest UserWe stayed as a family of 4 the rooms were emaculately clean, the beds were beautiful and very generous sizing, local milk in beauitful glass bottles connecting the local rural communiy was a great touch.All appliances were new and whisper quiet, which meant we all slept very well. Glenys gave us plenty of advice on where to take the children, local hot pools were a hit and the domain next door with playground gardens and basket ball courts for free family fun, the exploding geyser was great entertainment, very handy location to all the walking tracks up mt Te aroha, supermarket and shops easy walking distance from motel.
The service was second to none.
Rod and Glenys were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best stay.
We had car trouble, and they opened their garage and time to help us get back on the road forever grateful.Truely, beautiful caring people.
We will be back again soon and have told all our friends and family of our new favorite motel

GGuest UserThe shower was warm then wet to cold within a few minutes on 2 nd day of the4 days we stayed. The first time I informed the receptionist & she said we could have a complimentary breakfast that was nice & would have the maintenance person look at it.
The second day the same issue occurred & my husband was unable to have a shower as the water had gone cold again! I informed the receptionist but I got the feeling she thought I was wanting something ‘free’ which was not the case. The shower had been fixed the day prior to leaving after our 4 night stay. No one had rung or followed up to see if the shower was operating properly.
We have stayed in the Millennium previously and have never incurred this issue or at any other premises we’ve stayed in over the years. We are very disappointed on the way this was handled !

LLee YoongThe motel is clean and luckily close to some food places as they did not have in house restaurant. The room is a bit small, luckily I was staying alone. I accidentally left my water bottle and they wrote to let me know. That's nice of them.

GGuest UserWhen l arrived at the Motel l found out that when l was doing the booking l should have taken note that there is no reception on site.When l rang the purported site the call was not a friendly one.I took an uber to collect the keys .And soon as l opened the door to my room which was room 9 l was discombobulated.It appeared no house keeping had been done prior to my moving in.The bins were all full of rubbish.The bedding had not been changed .Two McDonald’s empty drinks by the sink area.Two cups and a spoon in the sink see photos.I was then moved to room 7 which appeared to be clean but that inconvenience made me enraged😡

TTaimaI did like this place very much. The hotel is made up of small chalets. The room studio was amazing, clean and very comfortable. The lady at the front desk was charming and super helpful giving information about what to do for the rest of my day. I got there early and she got me in my room right away. I was able to go and do the Driving Creek Railway ride. It was an amazing experience. Coromandel is a very small village so not much to see other than a few stores. But the landscape is beautiful and there is a 50 minutes hike up the hill and a magnificent view of the Coromandel Bay right next to the hotel. A must see!
