GGuest UserGreat hotel with a lot of history to it, and as such a very nice place to stay at. Friendly and approachable staff. Unfortunately, I had booked two rooms without adequate facilities; one room did not have hot water and the other had a malfunctioning shower. Could have been bad luck, and I suspect the hotel management to be able to fix this issue.

GGuest UserTravelled on Saturday afternoon and was greeted warmly at reception and checked in very quickly with no hassle. Went up to our room which was clean,cosy and very comfy. There was everything we would need if needed,plenty of towels, toiletries and tea and coffee. Went down to the bar to meet friends and was greeted with more polite, friendly staff. Later in the evening we had a meal which was excellent. Will definitely go back for another visit. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserIt was fine. Not as good as a premier inn, looked quite dated and knocked about in my room. Didn't help that my room was next to a large extractor fan or something at the back of the building which disturbed my nights sleep. Shower was nice pressure and hot.

GGuest UserI lived in the town before and used this pub only stayed 1 night food and beer excellent and all staff very friendly it's in the best location if I am ever in Chelmsford again would be my first place to call on
