Hostels in Guangdong, China

The room was very clean with a faint, pleasant aroma upon entering. The front desk staff member was incredibly kind and even helped me with my luggage. The AC in the room was super strong – I nearly froze overnight! If you're sensitive to cold, be sure to adjust the thermostat. The sheets were exceptionally clean, and you don't have to worry about changing them. They also provide disinfected slippers. Luggage storage is available at the front desk, and they offer various disposable amenities. It was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was a great experience. The bed wasn't too narrow, perfectly comfortable for one person.

The facilities in this hostel are very comprehensive, aesthetic and thoughtful. The toilet is very clean, the mirrors come with lighting. The toilet also provides free, unlimited disposable panties, toothpaste, hair band, shower cap are provided. And every shower cubicle has 2 bins, a laundry container, and 2-in-1 hair+body soap! I like how the shower cubicles are sectioned into 2 parts so there’s a dry area for changing before and after showering :) There are cute and quality hair dryers on the top floor too! When I arrived, they also gave a bag for us to carry our clothes, and it comes with a free eye mask, disposable towel, toothbrush and more. Everyone is nice in this hostel including the counter staff and cleaners are females so the environment felt very comfortable and safe even for solo female travellers. The location is also near many tourists attractions and nearby there are cheap food stalls, supermarket and Starbucks too :) Highly recommend females to stay in this hostel during their trips to Guangzhou! It’s very worth it :) 这家青旅的设施非常齐全、美观又贴心。厕所非常干净，镜子配有灯光。厕所还提供免费且不限量的一次性内裤、牙膏、发带和浴帽。每个淋浴间都有两个垃圾桶、一个洗衣篮，以及二合一的洗发沐浴露！我很喜欢淋浴间被分成两个区域的设计，这样在洗澡前后就有干燥的空间可以换衣服 :) 顶楼还有可爱又高品质的吹风机！ 我到达时，前台还送了一个袋子用来装衣物，里面附赠眼罩、一次性毛巾、牙刷等用品。这里的每个人都很友善，包括前台和清洁阿姨都是女性，因此整体环境让人觉得非常舒适又有安全感，即使是独自旅行的女生也能感到安心。 青旅的位置也非常好，附近有很多旅游景点，还有便宜的小吃摊、超市和星巴克 :) 非常推荐女生来广州旅行时选择住在这里！真的非常值得！👍🏻

⭐ Female Dorm Rooms 207b & 206b 1. **Room Environment**: The room wasn't cramped; there was enough space by the entrance for luggage. Inside, there was a floor-standing clothes rail and plenty of small hooks. * **Bed**: Very sturdy and comfortable enough to sleep on. There were long hooks by the bed head and long privacy curtains. (The light switch was by the power outlet, which I didn't spot at first in the dark.) The outlets weren't very stable; my charger kept falling out, and the light was quite bright. * Room 206's outlets were more stable, and the light was dimmer. However, the upper bunk was quite noisy when someone turned over (it had two long-term guests). * **Soundproofing**: Decent. I didn't hear noise from next door, but I could hear people shuffling in slippers outside the door. * **Air conditioning**: Cool and pleasant! (Though it would inexplicably stop working sometimes...) * **Lockers**: The locker in 206 required a card to open but offered good storage space. The one in 207 opened with a simple pull. 2. **Bathroom Environment**: Not spacious but well-equipped. The bathroom door in 207 was broken, but 206's door was fine (though this bathroom was a bit smaller). * **Shower head**: Strong water pressure, making for a comfortable shower, but the water wasn't very hot. * **Toilet**: Squat toilet, which I was happy with. * **Hair dryer**: Blew very hot air and seemed durable, which I liked. (I did find it a bit unsafe as it was openly placed next to the sink, easily exposed to shower spray.) 3. **Wi-Fi**: Mediocre. It worked in the lobby, but I had to use my mobile data in the room. 4. **Front Desk Service**: The landlady was incredibly friendly and kind. The hostel seemed to be undergoing renovations or preparations, as some areas looked a bit messy. 5. **Location**: Just one station away from Futian Port, making it very convenient for trips to Hong Kong. Fumin Exit J2 involves a rather long walk *within* the metro station. Coming from Exit A would be even more disheartening. After exiting, I recommend navigating to the Meiyijia convenience store (Qingdian Dasha branch); the hostel is just a right turn from there (trust me, Gaode Maps confused me). 6. **Washing Machine & Dryer**: Both are available (and seemed to be free). 7. **Lobby**: I'm not sure if it was because of summer vacation, but the tables in the lobby were very messy. Kids' homework, badminton rackets, and various items were piled everywhere, leaving no space to eat. (At breakfast, I even saw takeout boxes left from inconsiderate guests the night before... extra work for the cleaning staff.) The lobby also provides room-temperature water and a kitchen. 8. Room 206 had two long-term guests, both very gentle and friendly ladies.

The self-service check-in is very convenient. The boss will directly give you the room number and password. I went there on a weekday and the boss upgraded me to a sea view room. Thanks to the good bedding, there is a small balcony and the bathroom is clean. It is recommended to use unopened paper towels. Put a tissue box away for use in the bathroom? It's pretty close to the beach, right?

For cleanliness, I'd give this place a perfect score; both the toilets and common areas were immaculate. The elevators are quite fast, making getting around very convenient. The absolute highlight is the rooftop view – in the evenings, there's a lovely breeze, making it incredibly comfortable, and you can see the bay in the distance. The air conditioning in the room works 24/7. This was a huge relief, especially after staying in hostels in other cities for the past two nights where they cut off electricity during the day. The owner is really generous in this regard.

The accommodation is located in a modernly managed large apartment with a very luxurious ground floor lobby. Close to Shenzhen Library North Building and Shenzhen Art Gallery is also the extremely popular Hongshan 6979 shopping mall. Very complete viewing and eating.

The location is practically within walking distance of Hongshan MTR Station, and the building has several elevators. The room was very clean, with each bed changed and slippers required upon arrival. My roommate was very quiet, and I slept soundly until dawn. We checked in late, but the host and housekeeper were very helpful in arranging check-in. Overall, I gave it a good review.

The room was clean. The store service is very good and very humane. When I had a stomachache in Guangdong, my aunt took care of me and cooked porridge for me with brown sugar. He gave me salt and sugar and asked me to make tea with them, although I didn't use them in the end. I was touched by the kindness of the staff. The boss is a very nice person, very reasonable and polite. A key on my computer keyboard fell off, and I originally wanted to borrow some glue to fix it myself, but the boss tried his best to help me fix it. I am very grateful because he didn't have to help me. I also met people in this youth hostel who I would never have met before, which greatly broadened my horizons. It is really worth coming here.

Well, considering that I have lived in China for several years, I can say that I’ve gotten used to the Chinese mentality and have become quite tolerant. However, I’ve never experienced anything like this after leaving negative reviews about the cleanliness of the accommodation, the owner called me out, saying that it wasn’t true and that I should delete the comment because people won’t want to book the accommodation because of it. He said he doesn’t have time, that he has a daughter to take care of, and I really don’t see why, as a guest, that should concern me. He also said we need to reduce the use of the air conditioning because of the cost, which is why it wasn’t working, and that we Europeans have high standards when it comes to cleanliness. For that reason, this time I’ll post a few pictures so you can judge the level of cleanliness for yourself

The boss is quite nice. There are slippers, a hairdryer, and a small electric cooker for public use. The lower bunk is spacious. The bed is made of wood and does not creak like an iron bed. The hostel is very tolerant and offers all kinds of accommodation. There are all the staff, and the boss even brought a birthday cake from the neighbor next door🍰. There are also small cold vegetable packages in the public area. For special personnel such as medical staff, packages can be temporarily stored for a period of time for free, which is quite good.
