Highly recommended hotel to stay for vacation. Free parking space at Plaza Merdeka basement for your own vehicle. Walking distance to waterfront, plaza Merdeka and old street. Food and beverages in hotel are quite pricey, but can try food at coffee shop and restaurant nearby.

Had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering good value for money. The hotel is convenient located near the airport and connected to a shopping mall, making it easy to access food and essential. Breakfast was enjoyable with good variety of options, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, there was a blackout during my stay that lasted more than 30 minutes, and it appeared that there was no backup generator available. Fortunately, it occurred in the early morning when there was some natural light. It would have been more challenging if it had happened at night. This is an area the hotel need to look into. Overall, still a comfortable stay, but improvements in this aspect would enhance the experience further.

This is a great hotel for the area. One day, the bathroom drain had a bit of a smell, possibly due to an incomplete drainage system. Other than that, everything else was excellent. The room was quiet, clean, and well-blacked out, with great hygiene and new facilities. The restaurant was also large with a wide variety of options.

Had a pleasant stay here. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, offering good value for money. The location is convenient, with plenty of food options and shops nearby. The hotel serves a simple yet delicious breakfast. I especially enjoyed the Chinese style dishes. The dining area was also comfortable and relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful, and check in was smooth. One minor issue was the room air conditioning was extremely cold and difficult to adjust, so we had to turn it off during our stay. Overall, still a good choice for a comfortable and affordable stay in Miri. Would consider staying here again.

As the first person to write a review, I have to praise this hotel. It was my first business trip to Kuching, and this hotel suddenly appeared on the 18th. There were no reviews, which made me worried I might have a bad experience. I checked online and found it was part of the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) group, and it was a renovated older hotel. After checking in, I felt it was incredibly good value for the price. The hotel's decor was grand and unique, with a youthful and stylish design. Many corners featured thoughtfully placed furniture and artwork. The facilities were excellent. Because the hotel is new, every corner of the room was spotless. As someone who travels frequently for business, I'm very particular about hotel cleanliness, and this hotel truly didn't disappoint. The front desk staff were very polite and welcoming. The bedding was very comfortable and soft, and I slept very well. The bathrobes were also of high quality, the towels were clean, and the toiletries smelled wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices, and I heard the dinner was also good. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. Before this, I was torn between two other five-star hotels in Kuching, but after this comparison, I won't have to worry about choosing another one. Voco just opened on June 18th, and I still feel a slight smell of renovation. It gets better after turning on the air conditioning and ventilating. If you mind the smell of renovation, you can move in after September; I think the smell should dissipate by then. It's only about a 10-minute walk from the airport, and it's also about a 10-minute walk to popular spots like the Seaside Plaza. The location is very convenient. If I come here for business again, I will definitely choose this place without hesitation.

My three-day stay at the Grand Margherita Hotel was the highlight of my trip to Kuching. Situated right in the heart of the city, the location is unbeatable. Being steps away from the iconic Cat Statue and the scenic Kuching Waterfront made exploring the city on foot incredibly easy. My room was facing the cat statue. The breakfast buffet was amazing,. Their Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee are authentic and packed with local flavor. I also love the Roti Jala. While the hotel carries a classic charm, the rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The staff truly embody Sarawakian hospitality—friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile.

Checked in at 3:30pm on a weekday and was told the room still wasn’t ready, which was disappointing considering it wasn’t a public holiday and the hotel didn’t appear particularly busy. After a long day of travelling, the last thing you expect is to wait around past check-in time with no proper explanation or urgency from staff. The facilities were another letdown. Went for a swim around 9:30am only to find the pool closed for cleaning during peak morning hours. The spa and steam room were also frustrating to use because we had to search for staff every single time just to get them switched on. It defeats the purpose of advertising these facilities if guests can’t conveniently access them when they want to relax. Overall, the hotel looks nice on the surface, but the service and management of the facilities really took away from the experience. For a Pullman hotel, I expected a much smoother and more premium stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, right above a mall. It's also in the bustling city center. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. The room itself is good, too. My only complaint is that the air conditioning wasn't cold at all. We switched to a second room, and the AC was still just as warm. 🙄

EExplore the world with JosephI had a pleasant stay at City Rise Hotel Miri during my visit to Miri. The hotel offers a comfortable and clean environment, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. The rooms are well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with the essential amenities needed for a relaxing stay. One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its convenient location, with easy access to restaurants, shopping areas, and local attractions around Miri city. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any requests, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, while the hotel provided good value for money compared to other accommodations in the area. My booking comes with a breakfast, which was great to start the day. Overall, I had a satisfying experience and would recommend City Rise Hotel Miri to travelers looking for an affordable, clean, and conveniently located place to stay.

GGuest UserExceptional Hospitality That Made My Birthday Special I recently had the pleasure of staying at Pullman Kuching Hotel, and it was truly a memorable experience. I chose to celebrate my birthday there, and the team went above and beyond to make it special. A heartfelt thank you to I-Rene Saw, the Guest Experience Manager, and her wonderful team for their thoughtful arrangements. They beautifully decorated the room, surprised me with a birthday cake, and put us to a newly renovated room. These small yet meaningful gestures made a big difference and created a warm, celebratory atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay — the service was attentive, the room was comfortable and modern, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Pullman Kuching Hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay. Thank you once again to I-Rene and the team for making my birthday so special!

GGuest UserDamai Lagoon Resort is nestled between the Mountain Santubong and the South China Sea. The resort environment is serene tugged in a tropical rainforest setting. The area provides a tranquil retreat with dense jungles and sandy beaches. The Sarawak Cultural Village is located just a stone’s throw away. It is within 10 minutes walking distance. We were given all sea-fronting views with one corner rooms on the 3rd floor. We could listen to the waves crashing on the beach during high tide. The spacious space coupled with modern shower amenities and comfortable bedding made our stay an enjoyable experience and we had a relaxing time there. The buffet breakfast served was sumptuous with wide spread of local cuisines. We enjoyed swimming in the clean infinity pool in a sunset backdrop. There are many indoor games provided for the children. Thus, you will not get bored staying in this resort. The resort entrance is grand and the guest lounge is huge and beautiful overlooking the sea. The resort staff members are very helpful and friendly. The resort is highly recommended if you want to have a relaxing holiday outside Kuching city. Thank you.

GGuest UserOverall, the stay itself was comfortable, and the room met expectations. The hotel's aesthetic is elegant and beautiful, and its location is convenient, surrounded by chinese restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was also good and enjoyable. However, the experience was unfortunately dampened by issues at the front desk, hygiene standards in the common areas, and soundproofing. We arrived around 10am and requested an early check-in, fully understanding that the standard check-in time is 2pm and that any earlier arrangement is subject to room availability and discretion. However, we were told by staff that early check-in would only be possible with an additional charge of RM160. This created an uncomfortable impression where it felt less like a matter of room availability and more like withholding an available room in order to impose extra charges. The tone suggests monetising convenience which we weren't particularly happy about. After checked-in around 5pm. we noticed dirty plates on the floor left near the lift area. What was more concerning was that these plates were still there in the same spot the next morning when we checked out. This raised questions about cleanliness and hygiene, especially in shared spaces. In addition, the soundproofing could be improved. Noise from children crying near the lift was clearly audible, and due to the hotel's proximity to the airport, airplane noise could also be heard. This may be a concern for light sleepers or guests seeking a quieter stay. While the room and overall stay were generally good, these experiences affected our impression.

GGuest UserThis is a classic older hotel. The biggest highlight is definitely the great views and relaxing atmosphere, especially the balcony area which is very comfortable and offers excellent scenery. We stayed in a triple room. The room itself felt quite old, and the facilities clearly showed their age. As for cleanliness, it was a case of 'looks okay on the surface, but the details are lacking.' For instance, there were some less-than-clean marks on the sheets, and while the towels had clearly been washed, their dark color wasn't ideal. The bathroom's cleanliness was also just average; not overtly dirty, but not meticulously clean either. Overall, the hotel's strong points are its views and location. However, there's room for improvement regarding the room's hardware and the detailed cleanliness. It's best suited for guests who prioritize scenic views and are less sensitive about the age of the accommodations.

GGuest UserThe room was definitely not 33 square meters. The cups had limescale, and the bathroom amenities weren't replenished promptly. For a five-star hotel, using such an old kettle is unacceptable. The pillows were so uncomfortable; I couldn't sleep a wink for both nights I stayed. The mattress must be really old, as it was already a bit saggy.

GGuest UserTo best describe this place, it's like a mini paradise atop a cliff overlooking the beautiful sea, with a twist of staying in large cylindrical concert culverts. You can easily spot it along the road to Damai with its large circular logo at its gate. It was closed upon my arrival at 3pm, but due to the main entrance being easily seen from the receptionist area, it didn't take long for them to open the gate, and I just drove right in. The receptionist was very polite and welcoming, decently professional as well, after checking us in we were given a quick tour around, highlighting the facilities and public areas. The room itself, being quite quirky in its own way, isn't too difficult to maneuver around, as long as you don't rush yourself and knock yourself around the relatively tiny room. Adequate steps are built to help climbing up and moving around, with simple storage spots around the bed, which by itself takes up about half of the room. The other side of the room is the bathing area, which I would say is surprisingly spacious enough to use. So a bed and a bathing area sums up the entire, unique cylindrical room. The hotel itself is nicely planned, guests can pamper themselves by picking their favorite spots located around the place, and enjoy a marvelous view of the sea. There's also a small private beach all the way down the cliff too. Facilities include swimming pools, sauna room, washer + dryer machines, gymnasium, library, etc. are pretty neat if you need them. I would say the place is great for couples, and a short refresher trip. I technically live in the city just half an hour drive away, but to catch a break from work and relax here for a day, I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat. Just make sure you've got the legs to climb up and down the place!
