I recently stayed at this charming hotel, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The property is immaculately clean and well-maintained, though you can tell it has a bit of an old-world charm. The lack of telephones in the rooms added to the nostalgic vibe, making it feel like a bit of a ”bhul bhuliyaan” (labyrinth), but in a fun, quirky way.
The hotel offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. One of the highlights was the fantastic swimming pool, a great spot to take a dip and relax. The backyard, which was beautifully landscaped, provided a serene place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. What made it even more special was how close the backyard was to the beach—it was a short walk to the shore, and the beach views from the hotel were simply stunning.
The views through the hotel were equally impressive, giving you glimpses of the ocean and natural beauty from various corners of the property. It’s the kind of place where you can just lose track of time, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway with great views and a lovely atmosphere.
The hotel is a bit old, domestic three-star level, but still clean and tidy. very quiet. It is about 100 to 200 meters away from the sea, which is very close, but it needs to go down a small slope of about 50 meters. The weather in July is still a bit cold, and it is impossible to go to the sea. The city is very small, turn right out of the hotel for about 1 kilometer and you will see the landmark of the Ferris wheel. It is not far to go to Old harry rocks and Durdle door within half an hour and 1 hour.
Room was clean, lovely bathroom and complimentary bath products. Had a problem with the rooms electric’s…on arrival the TV, lamp and bathroom lights wouldn’t switch on. Fuse box was checked by staff and electric came back on. Electric cut out again late evening when using the kettle. Night porter (who spoke little English) flicked switch on fuse box again and told me to put less water in kettle next time! Tried that but electric tripped again so asked to move room. He reluctantly did that but gave us a key!
Overall a good stay just unfortunate situation with electric.

Central location very close to the part, pier and beach, restaurants and cafes.
The room s are smallish,
We had a double bed to share with my son, was rather tight. Not much space around the bed either. But very clean, new and maintained very well.
Would recommend for couples and business travellers . Families might want to find a bigger rooms or even self catering flats.
Parking is extra. We used NCP across the road . It’s cheaper.
We were charged to the card £1 upon check in. Very strange and not sure whether this would be refunded.
Booked as a last minute, lovely hotel.. Reception staff could not of been more helpful. We got upgraded to a sea view, and the room was spacious & lovely. .. there’s a lovely grandness to the hotel , so I felt sad that the smallest of Maintenon job that I noticed let it down, for example , the conference room opposite the reception curtain we’re hanging off it’s rail. So simple to rectify I’m sure.
Bar drinks, VERY overly priced .
Didn’t use the Spa as closed at 6pm .
I would return to this hotel., as stated the reception ladies were smiley, & helpful.

We specifically booked this hotel for our anniversary and they decorated the bed with petals which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was very nice but the rooms were a bit outdated and the toilet was dirty. There were quite a few downsides which did ruin our short stay. We booked this hotel specifically for the spa facilities mainly the jacuzzi pool but this was out of order before we got there and we were not informed of this otherwise we would’ve booked elsewhere and it wasn’t fixed for our entire stay. Swimming pool was decent but not the cleanest as i felt dirt on pool floor.
On our last night we ran out of water and my wife is pregnant so i went to the night porter and asked for a bottle of water which they provide complimentary daily but he said he couldn't give me one and he could sell one from the bar, which i found ridiculous. The room didnt have a fridge so we couldnt buy any water and keep it cool.
Parking was £10 a day which I believe should be included in the stay.
Hotel staff were friendly other than that but I would probably look elsewhere next time. For the price we paid I did expect a lot more from the hotel.

DDiana 1994In general everything was great.
We suggest to change mattress as both we and our friends had terrible back pain but this is of course just a preference and not everyone wants a hard mattress as we do.
Apart from that we love it all in this hotel.
Thankyou .
GGuest UserStunning hotel, great location. Everything was fantastic. Small thing is room 109 has a small frosted window with no view. When opening it opens to a dirty mucky roof. We did not leave it open as vermin might enter the room. We also mentioned it was a 40th bday but no extras not even a note.

GGuest UserWe had a 3 day stay at the Harbour Hotel in Christchurch.
We ate dinner there twice - once at ”The Upper Deck” and once at ”The Jetty”. Both meals were excellent: we had lovely tables, the food was great and the service made us feel special. The experience at breakfast was the same, with attentive service from all the staff and great food served on the open veranda.
Although we were using the hotel as a base for our walks around the area, we also used the spa which was well maintained and had all the facilities you could want.
We did have an issue with our assigned room which was not as ordered from Trip.com. Although the reception team reconfirmed they had allocated the room accurately based on what Trip.com had ordered for us, the Cherry the reception manager took it on herself to compensate us for the mismatch.
From start to finish the service at The Harbour was outstanding. All the staff that served us in reception, the bar, the restaurants and the spa were helpful, efficient and friendly. Although our room was smaller than we'd ordered, it was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable.
All in all, this was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in, this in no small part due to the professionalism and caring attitude of the staff team. We will return !

GGuest UserLovely one night stay at this hotel, was about a 20 minute walk to the centre! Room was nice and the bathroom was lovely! The only downside was what the room resembled a sauna to the point we had to ask for an extra fan which wasn’t too much trouble for the reception team after they located one! I would stay again but would recommend you do not stay anywhere near the leisure facilities and especially not room 23 unless you like waking up feeling like you’re abroad!
YYONGMEIThe Swanage Grand Hotel is in a good location, 20㎞ from Bournemouth and 14㎞ from Bournemouth Railway Station. The hotel is on the hill and has a great view from the window.
