Hotels With Wifi in Samarqand, Uzbekistan

Great hotel with understated elegance and a real touch of luxury. On my recent trip to Uzbekistan, I stayed in several different affordable hotels and guest houses, Hotel Caravan Serail was by far the best one. The cost per night was a little higher than the other places that I stayed but boy what a difference a few extra euros made! The room was super clean and elegant. The bed is very comfortable. Everything was very well maintained. The staff too were excellent, there was a slight mixup with my room initially, but it was dealt with very quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great option for an affordable place to stay and if I ever visit Samarkand again, I would definitely book this hotel without hesitation. I only stayed one night but wish I had been longer. Oh, the breakfast is pretty good too!

The hostel is inside quiet alley of the old city, which needs like 10 min walk from any bus/tram stations but easy to locate nevertheless. All rooms are facing the inner countryard so it’s quiet and peaceful. Room (and bed) is large and A/C is strong. Private bathroom is tiny but functioning with hot shower and hair dryer. Breakfast is good and drinking water is available to refill. Receptionist/manager/staff are all friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and sightseeing suggestions.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel's service. They made the two single beds into a king-size bed upon request and even refrigerated the fresh fruit we bought. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with a wide selection and a variety every day, including caviar. The hotel's surroundings are beautiful, with gardens, a gazebo, a small bridge, and illuminated fountains. There's also a free outdoor pool. The location is excellent, with a large park nearby and the famous Registan Square just a 20-minute walk away, featuring a spectacular music and light show at night. There are also many restaurants and cafes nearby. The Oasis Garden and Chocolate flavors were particularly delicious, and the handsome waiters were very nice.

It's very clean and even Japanese people won't be dissatisfied. It's a little far from the center, but it's a 20-minute taxi ride and costs about 400 yen, so it's within the acceptable range. When I made the reservation, I was told that the tourist tax could only be paid in cash, but I was able to use a card. Location: It's a 20-minute taxi ride from the center and costs about 400 yen. There are no stores nearby, so if there's anything you want, buy it at the airport or in the center. Room: There was dust under the chairs, but overall it was quite clean. Wi-Fi could be used if you authenticated with your email address, and video playback was possible without any problems. Free water was provided. Shower: Hot water came out, but the water pressure was low. Towels, shampoo, and hair dryer provided. Toilet: Toilet paper provided. There was a washlet, but the rear end was broken and only the bidet could be used. Other: There was an ATM on the first floor, but it wasn't refilled with cash and couldn't be used.

We are so happy and satisfied with this hotel until the day we checked out. We were accused of taking the laundry bag which is worth 300k Uzbek SUM. I went up with 2 staff and it turned out it was in the drawer all the time (the funny thing is I never even touched it.) I don’t blame these 2 staff as I know it is their responsibility to make sure nothing was missing/stolen (though next time it would be appreciated if they can check it more thoroughly.) What truly pissed me off is the attitude from another female staff at the reception named Zarifa. From the moment we checked out, she just looked grumpy and when my friend said “we never used it”, she reacted with “I am sure you did” in a very rude way! Even later on, it turned out to be in the drawer in the room, she was not even apologetic (the other 2 staff at least said “sorry for the mistake.” This is one of the 2 five star hotels in Samarkand and I just hope what we paid at this hotel is equivalent to the amount of respect you show to your customers. The hotel really NEEDS to put more training in your staff’s service. By the way, we had a really nice chat with another staff named “Firdav” at the first floor bar (if I remember his name correctly, he is tall and bit skinny). He had worked in Hilton for 2 years and the professionalism and politeness he demonstrated is just another level. PLEASE LEARN FROM HIM THAT HOW A STAFF AT 5 STAR HOTEL SHOULD BEHAVE AND TREAT THEIR GUESTS!!

The hotel was in a prime location, close to all the major attractions. Breakfast was nice, with a good variety of delicious options to choose from. The staff at the Sangzor were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful and always available. The bed was super comfy. I will always stay at this location when traveling to Samarkand.

Everything was excellent until the black out happened twice in one morning on our last day at the hotel. ID of the toilets need improvement - need the racks to be spaced out for hanging clothes and towels. WiFi can be improved, randomly getting cut out, not so ideal for working. Heated water in the shower was a tad too hot and couldn't make it colder. Mr T. loves the bidets and the multi-functioned toilet bowls. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide range of selection.

There was a misunderstanding with my previous booking for another property in the same wellness complex near Samarkand, but when I got to the nearby Hilton Garden Inn Sogt instead, I felt in good hands from the first minute - and all there was perfect, at least for my understanding. Cozy, warm, quiet and simply, but stylishly furnished rooms, amazing bed and bathroom, huge TV (which I didn't use for a second, but it's nice to know you have one), and all this - in a very peaceful, quiet and beautiful surrounding. Probably the best hotel service you can get in Samarkand, is in that area. Airport is 20 minutes away, similar is the time to the downtown and historic area of Samarkand. Yandex taxis are available day and night, and their rates are something you can't even dream of in the Western world.

Beautiful lobby area, great location, lovely selection at breakfast, little disappointed with the actual room, it didn’t reflect the exterior or public areas, but it was manageable. Over satisfied with our two nights stay.
