Booking online with Trip was simple. The Dorsett have clean rooms and staff are lovely, plus it's attached to the Gold Coast Casino. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel is equipped for people with disabilities or use a wheelchair. This includes self opening and closing doors, shower and toilet set up with aids that can be pulled out to accommodate needs and there are wheelchair touch buttons for opening the door.
I showered before going out and it flooded the bathroom, luckily there were 2 infloor drains. Within 2 mins or asking for maintenance they had a lovely young man up to fix it, then another minute later housekeeping arrived with fresh towels. The maintenance man also gave me a good rundown and recommendations on the restaurant's at the Casino.
2 negatives -
1st, it is hard to work out where to park as you use the Casino parking, the carpark directs you where to go but there is no clear signage on where the hotel lifts are. I only knew this from a past visit over 2yrs ago. This is something that needs sorting out.
2nd, the entrance address for the hotel foyer is actually on the Casino entry side, so you drive around looking for it. I now know that instead of turning off onto The Darling Ave, as gps instructed, you take the slip road before The Darling Ave exit. This takes you past the residential tower and to the front of the hotel
Great location and secure no need at ease breakfast is yum coffee is hot can sit back and relax and enjoy the weekend and they have it covered the rest of your stay .
Thanks guys 10/10
Best part I loved was the balcony room 1502 pretty sure because this is right in the 0ath of fresh air .
And room service quick and affordable.
It is the best hotel in Airlie Beach. The scenery is unbeatable, the facilities are good, the hotel story and the founder's development vision and the final implementation effect are all great!
The room is very clean, and the kitchenette has a microwave, which is very convenient. The only thing I can't accept is that the owner is Italian đ The quilt is a sheet sandwich towel blanket with a few small bumps, but it's still good overall

The hotel is a good location walking distance to
Bars and restaurants
It is very dated and in need of a revamp old lifts
We got checked in but was disappointed to
Find out that the hotel was under construction and that there was no pool they did provide transport to another hotel but we just went to the public one
Fresh towels were provided daily but the bath had not been cleaned or washed out
The bathroom is small canât fit two people in at the same time
Having previously stayed at the Airline Beach Hotel, this time, with school holidays driving prices through the roof, I decided to give this place a try.
First, the positives: While not directly on the main street, there's a bus stop right outside, and a Coles supermarket and a few restaurants are just a few hundred meters' walk away, which makes up for not being in the livelier main area. The staff were also very welcoming. The pool area is beautiful, and on sunny days, the water color is simply delightful.
A few things to note: The rooms aren't large, so if room size is a major concern, keep that in mind. They have a rustic, holiday cottage style. One side of the room features a large glass panel, so those who value privacy will need to remember to draw the curtains. For environmental reasons, daily housekeeping isn't typically provided during your stay. If you need fresh towels or anything similar, you can just ask at the front desk.

The hotel boasts a perfect location with comprehensive facilities. From our room's balcony, we enjoyed views of the Ferris wheel and the swimming lagoon, and the breakfast spread was excellent. Evenings were magical, dining with a gentle sea breeze and live music, truly making us feel like we were on a perfect vacation. It's also incredibly close to the Reef Fleet Terminal, just a ten-minute walk away. We'd like to express our sincere gratitude for the thoughtful surprise we received upon check-in; the staff truly went above and beyond, making our Cairns holiday absolutely wonderful. Thank you! I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay. The location is great. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, markets and the esplanade. The rooms are spacious with nespresso style coffee machines and various teas complimentary in the room. The TV had lots of free on demand movies too. The breakfast was not included in our stay but we dined once and it was great value for what was on offer. I would recommend it and stay again.
I was mostly happy with the resort. There were some things missing like more food options (only two restaurants) and small luxuries like a sauna for example. Itâs also hard to rate the staff as you had some incredibly helpful staff and then some real depressing ones that were just rude. The only other thing that was a bit of a shock was that the beaches were just full of dead coral and no sand. I hadnât been to one of the islands in the Whitsundays so I was surprised to see that. The photos of the resort did not show this so it would have been nice to know so it didnât lead to disappointment. Some positives though is that the resort was beautifully designed and they offered a lot of free water activities like kayaking for example. The buffet breakfast was also really nice.
Nestled in Kangaroo Point, this hotel offers a prime location with breathtaking views of the Brisbane River and city skyline. Itâs just a short walk to attractions like South Bank Parklands and Story Bridge, and the free City Hopper ferry makes exploring downtown effortless. The room is large, with private balconies showcasing river or city views. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, with pillow menus for added luxury. The room includes flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges.

This hotels wins the first place among other hotels on our Cairns trip! Brand new with mazing staff who are always there to make your stay perfect. The hotel has four pools in this nice courtyard area facing the beach, so you can swim with the view. Yet, the pools are not crowded at all. Family pool doesnât look like, yet it is shallow with sand, little fountains and everyone seemed to have fun in there. Rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfy. Balconies are made for outdoor use with furniture and even night light. The view is worth the price!

PPippa-louisePlace is amazing clean , fresh and of high standard .
But when it comes to booking and service this is another story .. for the money I paid to stay 2 night I thought this would be the perfect place to rest Iâm 5 star style .. place yes , service a disaster. Firstly when I arrived at Swiss bel .. I went to reception to book in as I booked online a queen bed room he asked if I had a vehicle I said yes agreed to the $35 a night and he said he would just take it out of the bond I paid at end if that was ok I said yes perfect .. when I got up to my room it was 2 single I called reception and advised I had booked a queen bed and there is 2 singles he said oh the house keeper hadnât changed the beds or didnât look at booking , I asked if someone could just come up and fix .. he said there is noone to do this now come down and j will find another room for you . I went down stairs said I would go get something to eat and when I come back hopefully a room will be sorted. I came back he advised me that he had upgraded me and I asked if I could have the new key and I will switch rooms and come back down with the other key to save me bringing my luggage down and then back up again. I got to room and key didnât work to go to 6th floor . So I brought my luggage down and told reception that key didnât work . He said sometimes this happens with those keys /actually quite often said he would come up with me and check . Yes card did not work so he used his staff card to let me in said he would fix and come back . He came back 10mins later to test and it had been foxed . Not sure what the upgrade as as room was smaller than the first , had no shower gel (was empty container when I went into have a shower) thought it may have been replenished on next day with room
Clean still empty on second day and cleaner took face washers and never replaced them so I washed with shampoo and a hand towel .. when I came back on second day went to put card into open the car park and it didnât work .. I went to reception to let them know I was trying to get into car park and the card doesnât work, she (Asian lady) advised me that I hadnât paid for parking .. I had to explain everything from the night before then asked me they will take it out of my bind I said yes thatâs what I agreed with the night before . No apology just more interested in getting payment for parking. She added parking to
Card then said she would come out and make sure it worked as I said the night before man had to come
And make sure carry worked she forgot card for
The card so
Went back into get then came out .. followed me down then gave me a card .. I later received a phone call from a lady called Theresa asking how my stay was and I explain that it has been the most disappointing experience I have had ever ! Explained the above she said she would come and replace the shower gel and face washers I said itâs ok I have already had my shower used a hand towel and shampoo because Iâm already in bed .. she said that I hope that my stay apologetic on my experience already , I hope it is better from now and if I need anything to contact her and ask for Theresa I said thank you I appreciated the call ⊠then then 10
Minutes later she comes knocking on my door I have to get dress to answer the door she knocks again I said Iâm coming
She is at the door with the shower gel and face washers getting me out of bed . I understand why she brought it but I told her I was in bed and I had already showered . So then I go to hand my key in to check out to be told I have outstanding parking I need to pay .. I advised Theresa that it is coming out of the bond payed and this has been told now to 3 people .. as I said place is absolutely fantastic.. apart from missing shower gel and tissues
Not sure what or how I was uograded as the room was smaller and no window as in first room

GGuest UserFirstly, the room was excellent, ultra clean with bath and shower. The sheets were exemplary, bed very comfortable as were the pillows.
Bar fridge and microwave, toiletries in the bathroom.
Towels excellent.
Airconditioning excellent.
I was excited to see a very large, modern wide screen TV with onboard Android system.
Disappointed that no internet connection (so I could have used my own passwords for my streaming services.
Even more disappointed that there was no aerial connected, but I had brought my own tech and internet. I just switched off the TV.
Imagine my extreme displeasure to board the 3rd floor lift at 05:00 to have the doors closed - but no button worked!
I WAS TRAPPED IN THE LIFT!!!
I pressed the yellow emergency button for 5 seconds - no answer - pressed multiple times.
I phoned the hotel main number, so they could press the lift call button - no answer.
I phoned the 24/7 emergency 1300 number. The operator said she would send someone out - who would phone me with an ETA.
Getting anxious, being 60 years old with a heart condition, I dialled 000 to call the POLICE!
The dispatcher commended me on remaining so calm.
I assured her, being very hot in cramped spaces with very little air was definitely not conducive to my remaining calm.
They said to call 000 back if I got out before the fire brigade arrived.
Five minutes later I heard voices outside. Someone heard my banging on the lift doors and cries for help.
I GOT OUT
That night the guy on reception said sorry.
I explained that, although the room was marvelous - and that I did eventually get out, a man of my age and I'll health could have died - why wasn't anyone on duty to answer the damn lift emergency phone?
He said he was sorry.
AAnonymous UserThe room rate is cheap. I booked a cheaper hotel because I had to get up early to catch the flight. The only drawback was that I was given a disabled room on the lower floor. I had to get up early the next day so I didn't ask for a room change. The floor was high and I could smell the fumes from the restaurant downstairs. I recommend booking a room on a higher floor.

CChih minWe stayed in the hotel for three daysïŒ7/7-7/10ïŒ. On the first day, no one came to clean the room. We thought we needed to notify the service counter to arrange cleaning. On the second day, we used the âcleaning notificationâ button on the phone in the morning, but no one came to clean the next day. On the third day, we reported it to the service counter in the morning, and they said they would arrange for a cleaning staff. As a result, when we returned to the room on the third night, we found that it was still not cleaned (this was the first time we were deceived). So we called the service counter again, hoping that at least they could change the bath towels for us to use. The service counter staff replied that they would ask someone to bring us clean bath towels, but they did not keep their promise in the end. We were deceived again.
GGuest UserExcellent location. Room was spacious. A pillow case had mildew stains on. Iâm not sure how a tall person would be able to shower in the bathtub.đ€. I guess food warming would have been provided for if we contacted room service.
All in all we loved it. The buffet breakfast was great and the staff there also.
Thank you Mercure on George!

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

GGuest UserThe hotel is pretty mediocre; both the cleanliness and facilities are quite old and worn. The location is good, but be aware that you have to pay a separate 200 AUD deposit, which is credit card only â no cash accepted. What's more, they take an excessively long time to process the refund after you check out. We stayed on August 8th and 9th, and it's already the 15th, but we still haven't received our deposit refund! This is absolutely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. Why do they charge such a substantial deposit and then take so long to return it?
GGuest UserThe location is wonderful .. short walk to surfers paradise and skypoint is just right next door. Easy to get from airport as the tram stop is just right next to skypoint. Many cafe and restaurant choices. Did not use the pool or gym. Noise can be heard from room as the walls are thin. Easy check in .. staff did not advise much on the resort facilities and we figure out the wifi password base on the sticker on the kitchen wall. Our rooms balcony look out into the pool which is nice.
RRay_ToowoombaVery close to the Fortitue valley bar area.
Pool is small on the roof top so itâs not heated.
Generally quite good.
Not exactly located at the central CBD.
